Add oil to A/C?

I sometimes get a few seconds of screeching noise a little while after driving off in the mornings, and I *think* it might be from the A/C compressor. Is there any way of adding oil to the system other than by draining, recovering the refrigerant, and recharging?

'02 300M: Change power steering and automatic transmission fluids -- difficult?

126K miles now. I don't know whether the power steering fluid has ever been replaced; I don't recall the need to do so ever having been mentioned. A transmission problem was fixed under the extended warranty just before 70K miles, and I assume that they did not save and reuse the old fluid -- but with that dealer I wouldn't be too sure.... more »

'02 300M: When to replace struts?

126K miles now. Is there any particular mileage at which it would be advisable to replace the struts? I'm not aware of any significant problems, but any deterioration would have been very gradual and probably not noticeable. Any way of testing?

Strange electrical problem with my '00 300M

So this morning I start my 300m for my 1.2 km commute to work. Car
starts and idles just fine. I put it in reverse and back out of garage.
I notice that the (ABS) light is on, and so is "Trac Off" light.
Hmmm. Ok.
I continue my drive to work - car seems to run just fine. Those lights
stay on.... more »

2010 PT Cruiser - follow up

2010 PT Cruiser, 25000 miles
The oil leak was a bad head gasket, repair under 5 year power train warranty at no cost to me.
Wonder how long this repair will last?
I thought is was kind of unusual for a low miles car to blow a head gasket.
Repair receipt shows upper gasket set, antifreeze, and oil change.... more »
