At least seven people have been killed in Brazil and nine
injured when a bus plunged off a bridge overlooking one of Rio
de Janeiro's main access roads, firefighters say.
"Rescue teams are on the scene. So far seven deaths have been
confirmed," a spokesman said.
A Civil Protection statement said nine people were injured and
rushed to hospital.
The bus landed on is its roof after falling about 15 metres on
to Rio's Avenida Brasil..
The avenue was littered with blood stains and shattered glass.
Authorities have launched an investigation. Witnesses said the
bus driver was arguing with a passenger who had not paid his
fare at the time of the crash.
