And the reason is very simple: It made America look powerless to stop
those nations that have real WMDs. The key word is "real" because if
they are caught in the act of getting them, they risk being attacked.
It's a psychological victory that was granted by the incapacity of a
former Republican administration to show some consistency. It is said
that the big fish eats the little fish but the little fish sometimes
develops weapons so powerful that act as a deterrence. The more you
analyze the law of the jungle, the better you understand the world.
"If the crisis ended right now -- with every piece of military
hardware back to where it stood a few months ago and everyone taking a
vow of silence on the matter so that we get no more threats and no
more demands -- the confrontation would have already sent clear and
damaging messages across the globe, encouraging tyrants and regimes
seeking or considering the idea of developing nuclear weapons."

I go through the law of the jungle every day when I walk or ride a
bike --which I have suspended in order to survive-- and drivers feel
entitled to the road. Where's the law?
This is something the dinosaurs should understand if they had the
brains to analyze it.
