Hi folks,
I am going to build my first boat (a canoe). I thought I'd
try the Swamp Yankee canoe that I found on the web (any comments?) Anyhow,
since the thing is totally covered in epoxy, will I need to use marine plywood. If not, what would be a good, inexpensive alternative?

Thanks
Dave

Don't know what this is doing under antique auto group but:
I don't think there would be any alternative to marine plywood for something
like this even if totally sealed in epoxy. Even if marine plywood you should
inspect it pretty good for defects and work arounds. What is critical is the
strength of this material, totally filled lamination of real wood, and marine
plywood glue bonding the laminations. There is pretty good reason it costs
more but it probably should not exceed double the cost of good quality
exterior plywood.
