According to M-Audio support, the new firmware should be out within 1-2
days from now on www.m-audio.com
Here's the information I received in the email:
- not implemented: Mono recording
- not implemented: long Boot-up time NOT shortened
- not implemented: record line level over 1/8" plug
- implemented: L/M/H switch order corrected
- implemented: 24bit recording over S/PDIF
- implemented: play & delete files from "Files" menu
- implemented: pops and scratching noises during monitoring when
starting/stoping recording gone
- implemented: hold switch will now also prevent accidential
switch-off
- planned: rec/pause mode with monitoring (not sure if already in new
FW)
- ? no info received about monitoring when recording S/PDIF
Well I doubt they can fix this with firmware . It's probably the way
the circuit is designed. Besides, is has line inputs why would you
choose to use an 1/8" jack anyway when the are more robust connectors
available??
Interesting spec
"Maximum Input Level: +4.3dBu, balanced; +2.1dBV, unbalanced "
So that's Maximum level NOT operating. So really it's a consumer grade
device with what we would most assume to be -10 dBV operating level.
Either that or the wording on the site is wrong....
Haha, it seems that everything about MicroTrack is wrong. Have you
looked at the closeup view? The CF slot and scroll wheel are
mislabelled (on the picture, not in the device).

Best regards,

General Fixes:
- Fixed the behavior of the L/M/H switch (L and H were reversed)
- Fixed a problem with the File menu (recorded files would not play
from the Files menu until the machine was rebooted)
- Fixed problem where "no media found" message didn't always show
- Adjusted screen contrast range
Fixing Meters:
- Fixed battery meter (if full and the external power was
removed,the level dropped approximately 5-10%)
- Fixed level meter length (the bar of the level meter maxed out
about 8 pixels shy of the end of the track,
so it appeared that the unit had headroom left, even though it was
clipping)
Fixing Pops:
- Eliminated pop noises on boot-up
- Eliminated static noises at the end of tracks
New Items:
- S/PDIF is enhanced to 24-bit/48kHz, and is more reliable
- Spanish language added
Where is 24/96!!!!!!!?????!!!!! Don't waste time adding languages, make
the device work as advertised!!!
