----- Begin Quotation of Daring Deeds -----

In a word: the sound will be improved in a way that has not yet been
addressed. Tubes sound less tubey and transistors lose their twinge. A
local audiophile who usually speaks only in terms of highs and lows
could only put it this way: "When I remove the Blackbody, the
attractiveness of the music is gone."

----- End Quotation of Daring Deeds -----

[but not for want of equally admirable offerings elsewhere on that page]

Looks like Audio Precision really blew it by omitting the transistor
twinge factor testing capability. What were they thinking?

I wonder is you need 6 (or 7 ?) of them for 5.1 ?

I imagine this is some sort of broad-spectrum DED

BTW, Aren't we three months early for this sort of thing?

As Anahate asked, are we really that long into the year already?

You MUST have one on either side of each and every mic and DO position on
either side of each and every mic cable every three feet. It will at least
make your recording rig very different, and getting up at 3 am to be ready
to record at 7 pm will be good for you.

Note: for snakes with more than 6 channels you need to establish a row of
these that allows you to keep the snake well off of the floor and free from
interaction from any iron-bars in the concrete. Surely something the venues
will love, it will be a great visual enhancement and keep squeaky
wheelchairs wel out of the way.

Ever perfecting the purity of snake oil this is surely the pinnacle of
the state of the art of bullshit, a new standard of cosmic fiction for
the merely mendacious to draw inspiration from. Will wonders never

They probably work as well on the recording end as on the
playback end. Which is to say that they do nothing except to
influence the perception and reduce the bank account of the
technically ignorant.

Particularly pathetic that they invoke Richard Feynman as
part of the "explanation" of how the magic box works.
Feynman was rather intollerant of this kind foolishness.

Appears to be a "high-tech" version of the Pet Rock. At
least the magic dampening bricks would keep the cage of
your firebottle amplifier from vibrating from the magnetic
field of the transformers. But this gadget just sits there
"not too near and not too far away". And exudes magic.

I must say that these people are boldly pushing the frontiers
of increduility. They make Monster Cable look like saints.

Convienent to have a list of "Recent Press Coverage" including
"Stereophile". It is a handy reference of sources that are totally
discredited.

"Every wire distorts a signal to some extent. Every meter is
made up of 100 centimeters. Every centimeter is made up of
10 millimeters. Every millimeter distorts to some extent."
Good to know.

Perhaps the OP meant to post this in r.a.o

Perhaps the OP (and everybody else who has replied thusfar) has a sense of

Seems really unlikely that you have NEVER encountered a
"true believer"??? People who are so technically ignorant
that they haven't a clue where the demarcation point between
technology and magic lies.

Many a true word spoken in jest.

The margin between what is obvious and rational, and things that people
believe that are just plain silly, is blurred in many different arenas !

I believe in studio magic. I do, I do!

It happens when good artists work together with good technicians and
good engineers and get to concentrate on creation rather than how to
record it.

When top-notch talent is at work in those three areas, it of course
happens with much higher frequency.
