Anyone know of a good location recording service in Montreal? A young
organist friend of mine is taking up a scholarship at McGill University
(he leaves next Wednesday!) and will be interested in getting some
recording done in due course.

Mike - I believe the students in the Sound Recording Program of
McGill's Music Department (It's a pretty serious and respected one,
too: last I heard George Massenburg was at least a regular lecturer
there) have him covered for recitals at the school (he should like
Redpath Hall), and I'm sure some of the more enterprising ones will
have him covered outside. Tell him no worries. -kooz

Thanks to Kooz, Ptr and gb, I've forwarded the information to my friend.
If you happen to be in Montreal look out for him. Mike Stewart is his
name.

Thanks again.

I guess the caveat though , is that both parties may be on the
learning curve , so keep communication flowing .

Just out of curiosity, why is an organist in Montreal asking a recording
engineer in New Zealand for recording references? Doesn't he know someone a
little closer? Like in the same hemisphere (northern and/or western)?

Oh, it's Michael Stewart, late of Christchurch Cathedral. I have one of his
(and your) recordings. Worth the effort.

No, I don't volunteer to run up his way, but if he ever heads south, let me
know.
