It's Reaper with Kontakt as a VSTi. I can
record the MIDI, and hear the audio, but I want
to record the audio output of the VSTi.

This is surely Reaper specific. I am using
the 8-out Kontact configuration, and can control
each stereo pair's output from separate track
faders, and I see the audio VU meters bouncing
on them, but I can't seem to capture the actual
audio to disk. I arm for record, and record, but
nothing makes it to the track. They are wanting
their input from the soundcard I guess.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know anything about Kontact in particular, but to turn any
other VSTi track to audio, you Render the project. If you just want
that one track, you mute everything you don't need.

There's also a couple of other features that may be more what you're
looking for but I haven't used them yet, called "Stem Rendering" and
"Track Freezing". Check out sections 5.17 through 5.19 in the manual
for details.

Yes, I think he wants "Track Freezing". Just choose the desired audio track
and use the "Freeze" command (I have my Freeze/Unfreeze buttons docked in
the toolbar as well as other funtions I use frequently).

If running as a VSTi you record the audio when the project is rendered.

Ekse render it 'in place' - not sure of Reaper's terminolgy for this.

Else run Kontakt as Sstand-alone, and Rewire it to Reaper, recording the
Ko... outputs as audio tracks.
