I don't know either of you Mike. Can you post a link to gearslutz so I can see
what you are referring to?

And if there is a problem why not just come out and say what that is?

I think the many many positive feedback's going back over 9 years speaks
more accurate than one's opinion.

Ken deleted the post at gearslutz as a couple more people posted
negative experiences with him. I did not link as you have to be a
registered member over there to post a FS which i assume cuts down on
people like Ken who regularly work in the shadows. his name over there
is "postman56" or something.

I got a lovely enraged phone call from Ken yesterday after posting
this. This is more than i got when the sale went through 4 or 5 years
ago so if anyone does have trouble with the 67 or anythign else
purchased - this is a good way to get him on the horn.

I'm not pissed at him at all. This happened a few years ago and i'm
over it and in the process found out about the badass alactronics
modifcation to the 1176 - so this is not some sort of revenge. i would,
however, like to be one of the folks that can stop this guy from
ripping more people off by posting public service announcements like
this one that can be found. i noticed him a couple months ago here
and said, "hey! thre's that ken gold!" The good folks at RAP did me a
service by posting about his actions here so i could find out about
him...I only wish i would have looked it up before buying.

Ken - your ebay feedback is littered with the same complaints as mine
about items being misrepresented and on the flip side - not paying for
items. Please go ahead and point to your at best spotty feedback.

Best to you all, sorry for the negativity, and here is what i wrote at
gearslutz:

Ken Gold-

You sold me 2 1176LN's in 2001 or 2002 in "mint condition" for 4800
dollars. You contacted me after i lost an ebay auction on an 1178 and
made them available to me.

These were from your CBC radio station...single owner. You said you
were a CBC engineer and just need to raise money for some newer gear.
One arrived DOA. The other in not so good shape. One had a CBC label on
it. The other did not. Both appeared not to be the items you sent me
pictures of. I contacted you and you were unwilling to discuss it.

After that happened - i did my homework on you - which i should have
done before buying, unfortunately. You may work for the CBC - that i
cannot tell however - you also scrounge for junk in local classifieds -
pay lowball on it - and sell it as something from your CBC station.

You may have some decent sales when you are out in the open but buying
should not be a gamble. I think people's experiences with you on RAP
are more than enough to call your practices into question. It is more
than one person on there who have problems with your ethics. Interested
sellers don't even have to believe my story...there are more out there.

I got burned on 4800 bucks...it took me a year to pay those and the
repair bill off. I'd hate to see someone else fall for it.

Need any more information Ken Gold?

Mike, the actual numbers for example since 2003 over 150 transactions,
only 1 negative feedback, and one other that's from a scammer in Vietnam
that no longer has an account.
You can slander and ridicule me all you want, but the overwhelming
majority disagree with you, and wholeheartedly endorse me.
I'm very reasonable and most certainly would of sent you another pair
should you of made a fuss about them.
At the time, I sold two pair to 1176's to Larabee's in LA, two pair to
Randy Alpert at Scream Studios, two units to The Warehouse, and two to
the Fire station, and not one concern returned to me.
If I misrepresented the units, I certainly didn't mean to, but your
public slandering is going to get you in serious trouble, mark my words.

Yeah, that is pretty poor feedback. Especially considering most people
won't even give bad feedback to sellers since you have to be afraid of
retalitory feedback.

And it appears Ken is not even being very honest about that.

You can check Ken's feedback left for others. You will find 9 negative
feedbacks he left. Which confirms what I said above. Even though the
SELLER should be leaving feedback first, as soon as he is paid.

Sorry Ken, my money is on Mike.

Ken has been at this for years misrepresenting what he sells . It seems
like everything he offers "comes from CBC" when in fact he is
obviously a picker who resells what he finds elsewhere. And it isn't as
tho he's offering any bargains either.

I think caveat emptor is the minimum attitude one should take with this
guy. You'll be happy you did........
