Go to my website and then go to Sunshine Gazette newsletters - there
are recommended recordings in them - lots of great stuff.

PS: here are some examples

Recommended Recordings
Just a little note - I got numerous complaints last month for leaving out
the recommended recordings list from Sunshine Gazette number 20. OK, I'm
sorry but we wanted to give maximum rapid coverage to the Consumer
Electronics Show! One guy actually threatened to cancel his subscription!
I kid you not! Another guy wanted his name off the list because we once
called a McCartny song Baby I'm Amazed instead of Maybe I'm Amazed. Well,
that reader amazed me with his attitude! I do this because I enjoy
writing and because it is a great vehicle for introducing you to us and
the nice equipment we sell. Anyway, here is the latest group of
recordings. Enjoy!!!!

DINGO Michael LeGrand & Miles Davis Columbia 7599-26438-1-2
To say that Miles Davis was the greatest horn player of all time is to
understate his significance to modern jazz. The playing on this album is
absolutely brilliant, and shows a 'kinder, gentler' Miles than we see on
earlier stuff like Bitches Brew. This is a collaboration between pianist
Michael LeGrand and Miles written for the movie, Dingo. The recording
takes place in the world down under, and I just love when a little
'aussie' kid goes up to Miles and asks him about playing the trumpet,
Miles, playing the part of Billy Cross, mumbles in that gravely voice of
his, "I'm no trumpet player". Yeah, right! Trumpeter Chuck Findlay also
performs superbly on this beautifully recorded disc.

Independence Day Music by David Arnold RCA 09026 68564-2
You want a sonic blockbuster? You want a rock-em, sock-em, pedal to the
metal type big & bold classical recording? You want to shake the floors,
wake the neighbor, and make your knees freeze and your bladder splatter?
Then just load this HDCD encoded disc into your CD Player and let 'er
rip! Every check is a sonic blast! Oh yeah, the movie itself does the
same thing on laser-disc in our home theatre! When we played this through
the new Camelot Uther DAC driving the PASS Aleph Two's and the GALLO
Nucleus Reference speakers, we were absolutely astounded at the depth and
breadth of the soundstage! This is a must!

Chris Isaak Heart Shaped World Reprise25837-2
There once was a time that Warner/Reprise had all my favorite musical
groups - the Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi, and a slew of others. I haven't
heard anyone on reprise that I liked in years....until Chris Isaak came
along! I have previously recommended his Sometime Blue album, but Heart
Shaped World is even better! Thanks must go to my daughter Jennifer for
turning me onto this album. Isaac's voice is most reminiscent of the
late, great Roy Orison, and his rockabilly/country song style is also
very similar. Check out the song Wicked Games, its a sonic killer.

French Chamber Music Previn, Hoffman, Rosenfeld RCA D 108911
I love French Impressionism. I love the paintings, the art, and most of
all - the music. When I saw this disc of Trios by Ravel and Debussy, I
figured what the heck. What I got was about 50 minutes of glorious music.
Imaging is sharp, the soundstage is believably wide, and the tonality of
the instruments is excellent. The playing of this music is also first
rate (in my opinion - but then again - I'm not a musician so who am I to
judge).

Miracle Willie Deville (w/ Marc Knopfler!) A&M CD 5177
I remember Mink DeVille playing in clubs in New York, but I don't
remember him sounding like this! Wily has a strong sharp voice with a
Louisiana type drawl to it.. The music is southern rockabilly with titles
like Gun Control, Southern Politician, Spanish Jack , and the songs are
sagas of life in the small town south. Marc Knopfler produced the album
(he's everywhere!) and plays his recognizable chops on several songs.
Southern Politician & Spanish Jack are true stand-outs!

Oh yes, this is wonderful album, not only from a sonic standpoint but
from a musical one. Dire Straits meets Roy Orbison and Orbison wins.
The *real* achey-breaky heart. If Blue Hotel were on there, it would
be a perfect album.

Now you should go all the way back to his first album "Silvertone."
That has arguably his best song, "Talk To Me."
