What is the opinion of the membership here about the Yamaha NS-1000 in
relation to newer products?

I have not heard their equal, in my opinion.

I guess that means you like them. ;-)

I suspect that more technologically refined speakers have been put on the
market since the days of the NS-1000.

I also suspect that they sound at least a little different.

Whether you'll like them better - I can't predict.
