I watched:

REMINGTON STEELE:
"Cast in Steele". Three actors from the 1940's hire Remington Steele to
investigate a fan who is sending them threatening letters, only to
discover someone is trying to kill them as well. I liked how it was told
in retrospect from their hospital room to Doris and I didn't see the
plot twist at all.

CONSPIRACY THEORY WITH JESSE VENTURA:
"Death Ray". Jesse investigates stories of Tesla "death rays" capable of
making people burst into flames or oblitorating entire cities. I couldn't
figure out why he was taking people seriously who were claiming the
government was using their death rays to make them uncomfortable until he
suddenly veered into "Truther" territory and speculated that George W
Bush ands DickCheneyHaliburtonBigOil destroyed the WTC using alleged
"death ray". On the positive side, he didn't claim to be a former Navy
seal this week.

WHITNEY: The show picks up moments from where it left off last season. The
only change here was the absence of the friend's fiance who switched teams.
The show did not utilize Jane Kaczmarek as well as it could have, but I hope
she makes more appearances as Whitney's mother.

NEIGHBORS: The Bird-Kersees (love that name) join the humans and the
father's parents for Thanksgiving diner. We find out why crop circles exist
and we find out that 4 guest stars can be added to the show and offer
nothing at all.

MODERN FAMILY: The Dunphy family goes on a school trivia contest outing
with Alex, except for Phil who goes on a first date and Haley who goes
missing. The wall mural was hideous. I would have skipped the kiss at the
end and left the episode with Phil never figuring it out.

SURVIVOR: Good to see the horrible Abi is so unliked that no one even wants
her on their team. Sad to see that that almost certainly means that she
will make it to the final 3 as an easy loser. Meanwhile, Penner wins the
Reward Challenge for his entire team by out thinking the opponents. The
Immunity Challenge was so one sided that I have to believe that multiple
people were not trying at all to win, preferring to stay under the radar. I
was surprised by the boot this episode as he would have been another clear
loser at F3. The deeper into the game they all get with multiple players
carrying not so hidden HIIs, the more difficult it will be to blindside
anyone.

ARROW: No time to fight the right and corrupt this week as they are needed
for charity events. instead, this week the plan is to fight bank
robbers...who rob by day even though they can rob by night? 5 years of
robbing banks in multiple cities and they still don't have enough money to
retire? ...and I am unsure whether or not 2 of the 4 were ever captured so
maybe those two now have enough to retire? Speedy's crush was a lame plot
twist and the Queen mother was tedious all episode long. The matching lip
birthmarks were really bothering me this episode. I wonder what happens
when the search the dead bankrobber and find Oliver Queen's business card in
his pocket?

Aarow was OK. The lack of the annoying cop helped but his annoying
daughter filled in the gap. I wasn't sure about a de-powered Royal
Flush gang but they came off OK. I had a chuckle at the line, "He's the
local vigilante." Could other cities perhaps have their own local
vigilantes that might pop up in future episodes...

I watched:


American Horror Story - "I Am Anne Frank (Part 2)" Not very believable
that someone would be shot and then back on the job a few hours later
but otherwise a good episode. It was interesting what they did with the
Stepford Wife ending. That was obviously not how things turned out for
the wife but that's probably how the husband perceived it.


Supernatural - "A Little Slice of Kevin" The big battle between Castiel
and Crowley promised in the commercials wasn't as big as I had hoped but
still an OK episode.


Flashpoint (recorded) - "Sons of the Father" In a plot straight from
Criminal Minds, a nurse is kidnapped by a serial killer and it's up to
the BTU, I mean Team One, to track him down (isn't that a job for
detectives?) and rescue the nurse. OK episode.


The Neighbors - "Thanksgiving Is for the Bird-Kersees" The alien's first
Thanksgiving provides the perfect opportunity for the alien children to
free their aunts from exile. Of course Larry Bird isn't happy about the
release since the aunts want to murder him and seize power for
themselves. "Touch the glass!" :-)


Nashville (recorded) - "We Live in Two Different Worlds" Episode from
three weeks ago picks up with Juilette getting caught stealing a
lipstick bottle and then handling the fallout in the worse way possible.
I didn't follow everything that was happening but I still liked it.

The problem was the human characters acting like caricatures instead of
people. The aliens are already strange enough and don't need the extra
help to seem out-there. The episode would have been better had they
dropped the human parents.

Bank robberies usually happen during the day when the banks are open.
If they limited themselves to nighttime theft it would take even longer

Why? It isn't like there is less money in the bank at night...but it would
cut down on the number of bank customers they have to shoot. I would think
that if they had the sophistication to break into the bank/vault at night so
easily, that would be the safer way to go. An even better idea would be to
not move from town to town in groups of three banks *every time*.

Season #2...and it should start with the imprisoned bank robber escaping to
rejoin the gang so that they are also a danger to society.

Agreed...including a hint to Oliver that he should not take his bow/quiver
with him when he is breaking into police headquarters. Maybe something more
portable and less lethal, like some knockout gas canisters, would be better?

Well, they couldn't just walk in the open front door at night. And
they'd have an automatic alarm system to overcome. Vaults are usually
open during the day too, but would be locked and are very tricky to
open. Not to mention more alarms to disable.

I watch it mostly to see how awful it is, and that's pretty awful, it
is totally abusing the contestants with absurd light shows, goofy song

Hey guess what - I liked this episode! Yeah OK it was overloaded and
twisted, but they made it work, mostly. A black preacher is found
shot in a graveyard, the CSIs show up, and - it's on Warrick's grave!
Nick goes to visit Warrick's now drug-adled widow, sees a young boy
must be Warrick's son, and yes the preacher was there last night, and
another - the preacher's killer, but widow hates the CSIs and won't
talk to them, they have the boy removed from the disgusting house, and
who is this other young punk in a hoodie hanging around? Who but a
well-spoken young man that Warrick had befriended, who it turns out is
not only not the perp, but seems to have The Ghost of Warrick
protecting him! This not being enough new and potentially continuing
characters for one episode, we get the gang Bossman for the 'hood who
is of course tied up with everything, and that the preacher was dirty,
and his killer dirtier, and now his killer is dead, too! And another
body from a year ago, as it turns out. And it ends with the widow
cleaning up.

But we did not see Nick's new dog from last week.

A really strong outing, with the Trans being as awesome as ever. In this
one, Crowley is collecting backup prophets in case Kevin gets difficult.
Or, more accurately, more difficult. It's odd how not everyone wants to
align himself with Satan. Go figure. This week's newcomer in the form of
Delta the Witch is every bit as awesome as the Trans, with terrific
delivery of some great lines. I'd love to see more of her. And we get
our first look at Amanda Tapping as Naomi, who seems to be tasked with
keeping a heavenly eye on the brothers and reporting back to the Big
Guy. All in all, SUPERNATURAL at its finest.

Grade: A

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM (FX, 9 PM) / I Am Anne Frank
[Sister Jude employs a renowned Nazi hunter to gather evidence against
Arden; Kit makes a surprising confession; Bloody Face is unmasked.]

This one has some more of the terrific acting that I've come to expect
from this batshit crazy show. Sadly, it also has far too many childish
or artsy or whatever camera angles and tricks that took me out of the
story far too often and drew attention to the director, who I simply
wanted to shoot by the time it was all said and done. But the reveal was
great, and we learn that Dr. Thredson has been very naughty indeed. "You
make furniture." "Lamps, mainly." Heh. Our gal is surely wishing that
she'd remained at the asylum at this point. In addition, we get some
nice developments on the Sr. Jude front (as she continues to break down
and lose faith in ... well, pretty much everything, including herself)
and we get some sad resolution for "Anne Frank" and her Nazi hunting.
Looks like Arden is safe. For now.

Grade: C+ (I'll raise the grade to an A- if someone will kick the
director in the 'nads for me)

But he's not Satan or at least he's not Lucifer. I'm not sure how
exactly this King of Hell deal actually works. Within the framework of
the show they established that Angels and humans are separate entities
entirely. Angels are ridiculously powerful and can even create pocket
universes. In a fight with other "gods" and Lucifer (an angel) he
easily won. Any random angel can kill a demon just by touch. Demons on
the other hand are just the souls of humans which have been corrupted.
They were made by Lucifer and that includes Crowley. I can see Crowley
taking over when Lucifer died but where does he get the power from? Why
can he tap into the souls in hell but the other demons can't?

It's been explained, but I've long since forgotten and I'm too lazy to
look it up. :)
