He has what seems to be a small chiropractic business; I assume rented
office space in a larger building - I've only seen it the once, and only
the inside.  It seems the entire staff is him and a receptionist.

The main reason he's broke all the time is because he has the worst
alimony/child support agreements anyone has ever seen.

But this week he faked a heart attack to keep from being tossed out of
the beach house, which the Alan of the first few seasons would have
never done.
