I live in LA and it says "repeat" from 04/13/2003 but I don't remember
that episode from the synopsis. Weird.

Originally, "The Sting" was scheduled for 4/13, but it was replaced
with a Simpsons repeat (I think it was because that was the night
"Oliver Beene" premiered, and somebody at Fox probably assumed that
there were people out there who would switch from Futurama at 7:00 to
something else and not switch back at 8:30, whereas if The Simpsons
was on, they would stay on Fox for 90 minutes.) Some listings
services still think it aired on 4/13.

Either that, or it was about Fry moving back to the 20th Century,
getting bald, fat, and yellow, and moving in with two homosexual men
Because who wants a new Futurama when you can have a Simpsons repeat from two
months ago.
Seriously though, it was a pretty great episode.
It's about _damn_ time!
I'm always checking the listings on Sunday, and was so pumped to see
'Futurama' listed...albeit a so-called "repeat". I'd never seen it
before. Was a bit surprised to hear the announcer say "all new
'Futurama'". Eh. GREAT episode. Man, it had me on the edge of my
seat. I was sort of getting used to ho-hum episodes...they were
making cancellation easier to swallow. But now?
Must...get...cable.... Need...Cartoon Network!

Go with a dish. They're usually cheaper and give you more channels.

Wow, they've really improved since I changed over. How many channels
does cable give you these days? I get somewhere around 200.
You must have a nice cable company then. To get the same selection as I
have now would be between 15 and 20 dollars more with digital cable...if
they offered it in my area.
Unsightly? These small dishes?
Reception problems? The only storms hard enough to cause my dish problems
are ones where I seriously consider turning everything off for fear of
power outage.
Only advantage to cable for me would be if they gave a discount for cable
internet. But they retroactively canceled it so that people they told were
getting a discount had to 'pay' back the discount...
It's a long, sad story. ;-)

That would have done well for the one on tonight's Adult Swim ("Beindin' in the
Wind"), seeing as it featured Bender touring with Beck...
Yeah, the unsightly foot-and-a-half dish. I've had Digital and Satellite.
I've had one instance where I've had reception trouble with sat, and that
was when a thunderstorm was parked about three miles to the south of my
house. The power went out shortly after that, so digital wouldn't have been
much good, either. I pay about 40 bucks a month for sat, to get the same
channels on digital cable, I'd have to pay about 65. The only real
disadvantage is that I don't get local channels on sat, so I had to buy an
aerial to get the networks. Just bought one of those TERK antenna that
attaches to your dish, has boosted gain that feeds off the power going to
the dish LNB, and alls well. To each his own. Mine is satellite.
That's almost 250, plus another 50 pay-per view channels. I don't
get any of the sports packages, but there are something like
70 sports channels available -- though only some of them would
work at any given time, i.e., the NFL channels won't work until
fall.
It is when if your neighbor puts it over his front door, or the
guy behind you has his on a fence with wires stretching across
his yard up to his deck.

See, I live in an area where the utility lines are all buried.
Apart from a road crew digging in the wrong place, I don't
have to worry about losing power; but I do get thunderstorms
bad enough to screw up dish reception every spring.
Jeez! All of those extra channel packages must be costing you an
absolute fortune. I'm only paying 34 bucks a month.
Not to be snarky, but what difference does it make to you what your neighbor
does in his yard. I agree that some people take go the self-installation
route and stick the dish on a pole in the middle of their yard, but it
doesn't bother me.

I live in Louisiana, about less than 100 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. We
are thunderstorm central. Still, only had one reception problem.
only if you can get it. Pretty much anyone can get a dish. That's currently
my only option (although I don't have one)
