It was to blow off steam and bond with the crew. An officer can have a
good time with her/his crew. It is not as if they were going to have a
lesbian make out party. And it is not exactly a normal
situation/mission. What is band is romantic laisons which Ironically
leads me to believe Cortez and Captain Chaplin had/have something
going in addition to her being a CIA agent. I doubted it was her last
week  but it turned out to be true. On the other hand those really
were girl feet running away and she wasn't part of the conspiracy as I
suspected.

The Seal and Lt. Shepard technically aren't crew mates for those who
are wondering about they hooking up for a tryst.
