Because she will be told what everyone would tell her when they find out that a grieving woman is holding on to the wreck that killed her loved ones, "You should let this go."
But if we are going on the theory that she was in on it, then it must be because of the possible clues that it was a sabotage. But if she got the oat, she should have also burned the boat so it doesn't point towards her. But she didn't, so there must be something else that is needed from that boat.
