Gasoline prices are annoying and to some businesses a real problem,
but compared to other Obama economic problems, they really are just
one factor in the hyperinflation that is coming. But the polls have
tilted even further away from Obama and it seems to be gasoline prices
that are causing it. The weird part is, Obama wants $5.00/gallon gas
because he wants everyone on public transport.

of the price of gasoline is tax. It is about 65% here in the UK. I
like the idea used in some countries where the tax is used to

Obama (and the public transportation cohort) want to develop low-petroleum
transportation because $5.00 and even $10.00/gallon gas is inevitable, and
they want to be prepared.
There are also concerns about air pollution that I, for one, find
perfectly justified. Whether you believe manmade global warming or not,
I've been to smog-choked cities and it's *awful*. It's no way to live. It
makes everybody's life miserable and causes a lot of premature illness and
death. I'll give up a lot of convenience to breath clean air.

He does not seem to realize that increasing base energy prices by all these
means is a tremendous burden on the economy. But he's also in thrall to
certain green climate warming hysterics who say we just have to do it,
period, end of story, don't confuse me with the facts.

It is not the current practice here in the colonies.
