Get ready to pay more for your Grand Slam.

A Florida restaurateur who operates roughly 40 Denny’s locations
and five Hurricane Grill & Wings franchises in Florida, Virginia
and Georgia intends to add a 5 percent surcharge to customers’
bills to offset costs from ObamaCare beginning in January 2014
when the Affordable Care Act is fully implemented.

“People are trying to find ways to avoid the penalties and to
avoid having to pay for ObamaCare,” John Metz told FoxNews.com.
“Everyone’s looking for a way to not have to provide insurance
for their employees. It’s essentially a huge tax on all us
business people.”

To further offset the costs, Metz, who oversees roughly 1,200
employees as president and CEO of RREMC Restaurants, LLC, said
he also will slash most of the staff's time to fewer than 30
hours per week. That change will be announced to employees next
month, he said.

“I want to explain it to everybody, to let them know what’s
coming down the pike,” he said. “We like to keep our employees
informed.”

The changes will force some front-of-the-house employees to look
for second jobs, Metz said, but he simply cannot afford the
penalties associated with ObamaCare.

“It’s a great concept,” he said. “We want to have everyone
insured. The problem is, who is going to pay for it and how are
we going to accomplish this?”

And how much do you pay your employees?

It isn't healthy to over-feed.

If enough businesses start doing this, expect some effort in Congress to
make it illegal.

Why would a GOP controlled Congress do anything to quash GOP initiated
propaganda campaign?

Only if Congress is comprised of idiot teabaggers trying to make free
enterprise illegal.

How? How about your property taxes? They add itemized taxes. Will
that be illegal, too? That is, if you aren't still living in that
cardboard box.

The amount they are worth, to the company. No more, and no less. The
higher your overhead, the higher your prices. The higher your prices,
the lower the number of customers. If the number of customers gets too
low, you go bankrupt.

We do not have a GOP controlled congress and it they continue their
blaming game, they'll lose the house next and we'll have a Democratic
congress. Then you'll have reason to complain as your would if either
party had the whole enchalada. GOP Bullshit is how they lose
elections.

Unless they come up with a reason to vote for them, republicans are
doomed to lose. They've sailed along on vote me for because the
other guy is no good for too many elections. That's not going to fly
anymore.

Enough to pay for healthcare...and still eat.

If ALL employers have to play by the same rules...how is there an unfair
(dis)advantage?

I would suggest that corporatists and the business community throw their
support behind universal...single payer healthcare if they wish to get out
of this altogether. Just think what could be accomplished with their armies
of swell lobbyists. In this day and age, EVERYONE needs and should have
decent, affordable healthcare. The rich will always be able to get elite
care. I'm not too worried about that.

The biggest problem that Denny's has is their food quality is
horrible. Since they aren't union, I guess Obamacare has to take the
blame.

The methodology of the left has always been:

1. Lie
2. Repeat the lie as many times as possible
3. Have as many people repeat the lie as often as possible
4. Eventually, the uninformed believe the lie
5. The lie will then be made into some form oflaw
6. Then everyone must conform to the lie

Pray that such doesnt happen. If it does..the Second American
Revolution will be abrupt and horrific and only end when there are no
more Leftwingers.

Frankly..I hope it happens soon.

Or pay the "surcharge" happy in the knowledge that the cooks have
healthcare now, and don't have to come to work when they're sick.

And that fewer poor are relying on the emergency rooms for their
primary care, which brings *your* hospital and insurance bills
down proportionally. No doubt more than the few extra pennies that
greaseburger is going to cost you.

And let's not forget that all the other restaurants have to absorb such
costs as well.

Aren't the small, non franchise shops exempt BTW? Giving true small
businesses an edge?
