I saw was the EMT shooting at someone off screen. What happened?

Didn't they recognize EMT guy as one of the biggest terrorist bigwigs
from "24"?!

I was screaming the same way when I saw Kumar help nuke LA in 24 and showed

PS-- In order to prevent the guy from blowing the ambulance up by
phone, Garcia uses a satellite to jam the nearby cell towers. He
almost gets there as Derek pulls away. The bomber sits at a fence in
the garage, numbly trying to connect his call. Garcia and Derek argue
over the proper time to abandon the vehicle. He does that last minute,
"You know what I want to tell you?"
KABOOM! OMG, did he die?
"Never stop talking to me."
"It's hard. Right now I hate you."
"I'll wait."
Derek and Thomas GIbson's character talk. They're offering Derek the
head of the NY FBI field office. Derek asks if TG's char recommended
him. He replies that the ambulance thing showed that he didn't trust
other people, even though TG would trust Derek with his life. BTW,
Derek doesn't need a recommendation.
Don't know what Dharma would say about the rest of it. It's kinda
fuzzy now.
