Why are CBS situation comedies breaking the scales?

Still Standing: Mark Addy
Listen Up: Jason Alexander
Everybody Loves Raymond: Doris Roberts
Two and a Half Men: Angus T. Jones
The King of Queens: Kevin James
Center of the Universe: John Goodman, Edward Asner, Spencer Breslin

Do programmers long for the old days when Jackie Gleason and Carroll
O'Connor led the ratings? Or did they hear that dramatic tension is
easier to create with a 'heavy'?

Doris Roberts is brilliant. Jason Alexander deserves a better show. I
found the new Goodman show better than I'd expected. Those who knock
people of size eventually will be sat on.

It's a real stretch to call TAAHM a "fat guy" comedy just because the
kid is a little heavy. He's still got time to grow out of that phase.

"People of size?" Will the B.S. political-correctness never end??

"Disgusting fat-body" - Sgt. Hartman, "Full Metal Jacket."

Quite right. Manipulative Marie Barone is central to ELR's success.

If anyone has the clout and money to put one together, or to hold out
for better, he does. It's not as if he was desperate for a job.

Considering that TVGuide called it "a shocking waste of top-shelf
talent", it didn't have far to go to exceed expectations.

Angus T. Jones is superb on that dull show. Charlie Sheen is the worst
sitcom star since Candace Bergen or Bette Midler.

I encourage them to be unapologetic. Even better- militant.

True, but it's one of only two new shows I haven't given up on. What an
awful season.

Prior to his abortive attempt at a show, I saw this guy in Israel.
He looked like he weighed around 350lbs.
If he wants a new show, I hope he's down to around 275.

I think Jason Alexander belongs on the stage. He's a terrific singer,
dancer, and comic actor.

Add Conchata Ferrell, now a full member of the cast.
