5. Lidsville

5a. Description:

After watching a magic show at Six Flags Theme Park, a young boy
name Mark went back stage to meet the magician. When he arrived
back stage, the magician was gone. While snooping around, Mark
watched the magician's hat grow enourmous. He climbed up on top
and fell in. He ended up in a land called "Lidsville"...a land of
hat people.

The show is all about how the "good hats" of Lidsville, along with
Weenie the Geenie, try to help Mark get back to the "real world",
while the evil Whoo Doo and his "bad hats" tries to stop them.

5b. The Lidsville Theme Song:

In the middle of the summer, in the middle of a park,
There began a great adventure for a boy whose name was Mark.
He had come to see the magic man, along with all the children, and
twas so began the day that Mark was never to forget.

He performed all sorts of miricles, and Mark was so impressed
that when the time arrived to go he lagged behind the rest
then quietly he did return, the secret of the had to learn,
but everyone had gone away and darkness was a threat.

The moment that he touched the hat the room began to glow,
And as the put it down and ran the hat began to grow, and grow,
and grow, and grow, and grow, and grow, and grow, and grow,
and grow,........and grow.

He was stunned and he was facinated, still he had to see
There was something deep inside the had, what could that something be?
Then cautiously each step he took, he climbed up on the brim to look,
And all at once the hat began to shake, and rock,...'Lookout!'

[Hideous Laughter]

Falling, falling, into the hat he fell,
Spinning, turning, whirling, twirling....Down.....Down.....

And when he looked into the skies, he couldn't believe his ears or eyes...

Lidsville is the Koo-Koo-Kookiest,
Lidsville is the Ki-Ki-Kickiest,
Lidsville is the Groo-Groo-Grooviest
Lidsville is the living end friend.

And if you have a chance to go-go there
You'll be glad you did...cause
Everyone who comes to Lidsville really flips his lid!

[evil laugh] "How's that for a topper!?!"

I'm certain Nabors and Buzzi played robots. I thought they were from
Earth's far future, but they may have been extraterrestrial.

The saucer could travel through time, but I don't know if it ever
left Earth. The point of the show, like so many other Krofft
shows, was to try to return the boy and girl to their own time
and place.

Just wondered, did everyone who wanted it get the picture I posted on
alt.binaries.pictures concerning this show? It was a colour scan of a
comic book cover with photographs from the parts above.

If only one person responds to this I'll repost. Hence, if there's one
here please DON'T post or mail me. :)

I actually have the theme to the Krofft Super Show on my 70s web page.

http://www.rt66.com/dthomas/70s/70s.html

I have no idea why I recorded it... but I was going through old tapes and there it was, all by itself, and with a cheer afterwards. I had been deliberately
recording the theme and was glad to get it. Wild!... I don't remember that
at all.

I'd love to be able to add more info about the show.
