Jim Beaver appeared as the soul of the late Bobby Singer, somehow
condemned to hell just because that's what Crowley wanted. They really
left that unexplained how Crowly can change the rules. So, you don't
have to make a deal anymore?

I couldn't find his credit. I played it several times. He wasn't on
the end credits, either. CW, of course, has re-created the end credits,
so mistakes can get made. Still, you'd expect him to be credited
at the top.

It just seemed like more of the same. The test didn't interest me. The
journey in and out was unsuspenseful. I felt sorry for Benny.

Kevin Tran going mad (or was he?) was far more interesting, but
they spent little time on that.

A deal for what?

Guess they meant this as a surprise

They'll probably get bact to Kevin later. Being locked up in a derelict
ship or whatever probably doesn't help his mental state.

Whatever the crossroads demon is offering. Bobby hadn't committed a mortal
sin. Therefore, Crowley changed the rules by grabbing him.

Then why wasn't he credited at the end? Elsewhere, I've read that surprise
or not, if the part is large enough, it must appear at the top per contract.

Crowley does that.

Dunno, will have to ask the showrunners.

Why? What's to stop Crowley, or the angels, from grabbing as many souls
as possible, then?

I was unhappy with Naomi and Dean's scene. She's supposed to be a villain.
She's supposed to be Dean's enemy. Switching sides makes no sense. We
still don't know what she was doing to begin with. She knows this, yet
at the end (backing down Crowley over Bobby's soul), she still expected
Dean to have accepted her.

One clever thing this season was making angels vaguely robotic, built upon
underlying instructions. But I guess that's how you get absolute obedience.

I just meant Crowley always changes the rules.

Naomi seems to be playing both sides. I dunno what's up with her. Maybe
she sees Dean and Same as the only hope for winning whatever
Crowley/angel battle is supposed to take place and wants to be in Dean's
good graces for the big favor she's going to ask him.

Well if God is still out of the building you gotta have something....

He's not being prevented from changing the rules. In theory, he wouldn't
prevent the angels from changing the rules either. So why don't both side
grab souls regardless of any mortal sins?

You'll have to ask the writers. This is set in a different universe than
ours and they make up the parameters.

There aren't any. That's why I found it rather weak.

In article <kjpmtj$cv6$1...@news.albasani.net>,
When there aren't any writers on a scripted show weakness
does often result.

(Note: "Humor. It is a difficult concept.")

This pretty much sums this one up for me.

Or maybe Crowley made a deal with Naomi. *gah* I don't want to know
how they sealed that one.

She wants the Brothers Winchester to accept her as one of the "good
guys". She does have a rogue angel with the angel tablet on the loose,
and two more people on the lookout won't hurt.

It will make the resulting betrayal so much more brutal. On the other
hand, do you think the Naomi would be opposed to what the Winchesters
are up to?

Besides, pissing off Crowley seems to bring a certain amount of
satisfaction amongst his enemies.

That could be. They seemed to be in cahoots, or at least knew each other...
