Sarah Palin: No Big Deal

MSM is making a big deal outta the fact that Sarah Palin is quitting.
It's not a big deal... not a big deal at all.

When John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his VP nominee, he threw his
chances (which were small at the time) to the wind. Sarah Palin...
probably a pretty nice woman and probably a very good mother... was
never a serious person for a serious political office. There are,
unfortunately, some serious Conservatives who don't share that view.
IMHO, that is one of the reason why Conservatism is in the shape it is
these days.

Now... regarding USENET:
When I logged on this morning, I had an idea of all of the leftist
dopes who would comment about Ms. Palin. And... true to form... there
were all of the dopes with their dopey, brain-damaged conspiracy
theories. There's "insane zepp", never the sharpest knife in the
drawer, no matter what kitchen one could think about, going to the
underside of the Web for his crackpot theories. And... the one that
made me LOL -- "the stupidest poster on USENET, milt.shook" with his
same, lame, brain-dead line "bank on it". There isn't one thing this
clown has ever written that was correct... and I guess this
shit-for-brains doesn't want to break his own record. *snicker* And
of course, there are the other usual suspects... Harry, Richard
Hanson, Gary the Rapist, et al. All... very funny & and as stupid as
ever.

I see that all of the newspapers and most of the news Web sites have
the Palin story as #1 or #2. They have to write about something. In
a week, this will be what it should be now... not a big deal.

Except that the national Republican party nominated this twit as Vice-
President, to a Presidential candidate who was 72 and a cancer
survivor. Half a heartbeat way from the Oval Office, and she doesn't
have the consistancy to run a soccer league.
Or the honesty. Word from Alaska is that the Feds are looking at how
her house was built, with the exact same windows as a state project.
She's not a martyr, she's a cheap grafter, stealing office supplies.
Oh, and the GOP decided that she was the best person to run Alaska,
and the second-best person to run the United States and the Free
World.

Out of curiousity, when was the last time a Governor quit for a reason other
than medical or to run for a higher office? Yes, this is story is a 'big
deal'.

My own conspiracy theory: Palin went insane because she couldn't stand
tuning in to the news every single day and seeing more garbage about Michael
Jackson. She knew that something had to be done to put a *real* news story
back in the TV 'newscast' eyesights. So, she did what any great person
would do and sacrificed herself for the good of all mankind.

Of course, he was a Democrat so any negative press
is NEWS. Palin's incompetency and Sanford's adultery
are "trival" and "liberal media looking for a story"
and "private matters being exploited by liberals"

I'll take that as floundering, Clay. Fact is, she's running and hiding
and her lawyer is either an idiot or he's working with what he has--
bluster--instead of a factual case. "discussing these claims" seems to
mean reporting facts. I realize that Fox News devotees are
unaccustomed to facts, but in libel the truth is an absolute defence,
and all these venues know it. As enjoyable as the prospect of a taped
deposition of Palin may be, it'll never happen.

Now try and find a way to blame the whole mess on someone else, and
save her the trouble.
Or await her announcement that she's going to revive GLOW.

So she bails out of a governorship were she is one of 50 to become
just a citizen, one of millions. Yeah, that's real smart. At your
Fascists for Morality dinner wouldn't you rather advertise that a
governor would be there to speak rather than a no body?

Lets see, the brain trust of the repugs wants some one to run for
governor. Hmmmm, who should they choose? An ex-governor that
completed their term successfully or some one who walked away from
that post?

first off that does not make you a quitter. It may make you a very smart
person. She could stay and become bankrupt and not be able to provide
for her family . that would be very stupid thing to do. She is
overwhelmed with half a million ion legal fees from loser dems trying to
discredit her. This money comes from her families pocket not like Obama
who has unlimited amounts of public money for this and money from his
anti American buddies in the terrorist countries of Islam.
Second there is no federal indictment or one being thought of or any
investigation at all against her . That is right from the FBI.
Third, I do not like Bush.

yet they have found her to be righteous and honest. Not like them. But
they will keep trying because she is a major thereat to them. If she was
not seen as a major threat to the liberals then they would just ignore her.

that is wrong. It is a big deal. It is a big deal because it is made one
by the news media. If it sells news then it is a big deal.
It is also a big deal to Alaska.
governors come and go all the time for various reasons. it is not really
anything to either party. Just news.

Quitting a job is so much more different that quitting from an elected
position.

When a person is elected to office, they have a contract with the the
people who elected them. She's breaking a contract with the voters of
Alaska.

Right now, Republicans have big trouble. This might not be true in
November 2010 or November 2012.

True.

Who does she leave behind to pick up the pieces of her reign as Governor of
Alaska?

> Right now, Republicans have big trouble.

Actually, I don't think so.

In November 2009 a lot of folks will be thinking, "Do I really, really want
to encourage these clowns?"

Every vote "NO" is a vote for the GOP.

I believe that in the "local" election of 2009 we will see a reversal of the
trend toward the democRATs.

> This might not be true in November 2010 or November 2012.

Well, a lot is at risk. If the Republicans elected in 2009 bring the right
combination of common sense and "economy in government" to their tasks then
I suspect that the silly democRATs will lose BIG in 2010 when the congress
is complete "at risk" along with 1/3rd of the Senate.

If the Republicans resume the thinking of most of the last half of the 20th
Century that they are greatful that the "Majority Party" permits them to
exist, then the GOP will start a slide into the ashbin of history and yield
its place to a new, yet unamed, 3rd party.

Believe it or not, or like it or not, there are a lot of true conservatives
among the democRAT elected officials. In state after state and at the
federal level they have saved us from the crazy agenda of the leadership of
the national democRATs. There is also a set of "pragmatic" democRATs who,
in their heart of hearts, are completely in agreement with the left wing
agenda will shift their votes to the 'right' to keep from being
marginalized.

What did he say that you can refute, giggles? Women are treated as equals

you trying to say there were no better qualified Republican women
candidates? That's pretty sad.

Keeps the focus off of the poor job obama is doing....he's the loser.
If White liberal guilt wasn't so obvious here about having to elect a
minority to ease their consciences it be shameful. Heck, even
lightweight Hillary had more experience than obama! But she wasn't
black. Thank God obama had George Soros funneling him campaign
contributions from rich arabs overseas or he might not have had the
wherewithal to win over Hillary...but lots of campaign cash especially
from foreign sources obviously did the trick here.

So you prefer a president who burdened you with the highest debt in
history. You prefer a president who started two wars and lost both.
You prefer a president who had the first foreign attack on America.
You prefer electing two draft dodgers to any one else.

Typical repug cowardice.

governorships, the American people spit you out.

You ran up the largest debt in history while cutting taxes??? You
invaded Iraq for no reason and killed thousands of our troops. You
wounded tens of thousands of troops and gave them third rate medical
care.

Yeah, keep on keepin' on, you're on your way to being the third

Ah yes, the politics of fear. Me personally, I'm still afraid of
terrorists taking over planes with box cutters. In the interim, of
course, we can mentally masturbate about N. Korea and Iran.

This country is on the verge of economic collapse. That's what we need
to fear.

Idiot.
