Brittany Murphy died last night after she went into full cardiac
arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ they received a call to
a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband,
Simon Monjack.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she
was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a
Word."

Story developing ...

32! 32!?!

How in the hell can someone have a FULL FUCKING CARDIAC ARREST at the age of
32?

And not to throw dirt on the poor woman's grave. And also that TMZ rarely,
if ever uses the most flattering photos, but that woman in there does not
look like a normal healthy 32 year old.

There must be much more to this.

My guess is complications from anorexia, given how thin she was in the
photos I saw. Karen Carpenter went the same way. Sad. I loved them
both, and while Karen was gone before I loved her music, Brittney and
I are almost the same age, so I was aware of her career from the get
go.

Rest in Peace, Miss Murphy.

Have you seen pictures of her husband? He's huge. He looks like he
exists solely on a diet of Big Macs. If I had to pick one of them to die
of a heart attack, it would have been him.

the series.

BTW, here's the Hulu clip of SNL making fun of her just a month ago:

Yes, young people can have heart attacks. A 16-year-old Bay
Area boy died from one just a few days ago, and I'm sure that
on tours of Children's Hospital in Palo Alto I've heard ref-
erences to even infants getting them. Of course it's rare,
but yes, it can happen.

I'm not familiar with Brittany Murphy's name, but I see that
she voiced Luanne in KotH, which I've watched a few times.
Is that show still running? I also must have seen her in the
Showtime movie "The Devil's Arithmetic," because I remember
watching that.

I wonder if it will be like the 'Family Guy' episode involving the Tim
Russert joke at the very end. The "Tim Russert" is muted from Fox
airing for the first-run right after his death (they take months of
production before an airing) and depending on the station/cable
channel, muted in syndication. I've heard it both muted and not.

Athletes much younger can die of cardiac arrest. Sergei Grinkov was
half of a great Russian figure skating duo (with his wife Ekaterina
Gordeeva). He died at 28 from cardiac arrest while practicing.

While I am tempted to agree with the people that compare her death to
Karen Carpenter's, it's entirely possible that she also could have had
heart problems that neither she nor her doctors were aware of.

Usually, if it's considered offensive, SNL would edit the tape. For
example, there was a Weekend Update joke about whose career would die
first, and they mentioned two actresses, "but here comes John Candy
coming up fast on the outside"; they removed that entire line (video
as well as audio) after Candy's death.

Thank you for mentioning this. From time to time every community
loses a young perosn on a sports field to a sudden unexpected and
unpredicted heart failure--"teen collapses after football practice".
There can be hidden body defects difficult to detect in normal exams,
such as what killed John Ritter.

There's ongoing debate about the value of doing that. On one hand, it
does give the students a chance to reflect on a long life. But others
say it's better to keep them in school, because then the teacher can
lead them through an hour of reflection; if they have the day off, they
are likely to "waste" it on movies or playing outside, or making out.

(But seriously, that is the way the debate goes about having Remembrance

She's Probably Lying! Brittany Murphy Denies Being Fired
Filed under: Brittany Murphy > Film Flickers > Twilight

Oh, please!

Brittany Murphy has gone on the defensive since it was announced that
she was fired from her new movie filming in Puerto Rico and replaced
by Twilight's Rachel Lefevre.

Murphy was reportedly thrown off the set for her difficult behavior.
Then her husband Simon Monjack was said to be getting into fights
with
the locals.

But her rep came to the wacktress' defense stating:

“The allegations currently circulating on the internet about Brittany
Murphy and her husband Simon Monjack read like a fictional plot from
one of the 50 plus movies Ms. Murphy has successfully completed
without incident.

She was not nor has she ever been fired from any job big or small.
Mr.
Monjack did not engage in any alleged scuffles. Though due to
creative
differences Ms. Murphy and the production mutually parted ways."

We're so sure it was due to "creative differences." And as for
parting
"mutually", that's hard considering that Murphy allegedly had plans
to
"sabotage" the film.

Her rep had a response for that allegation as well:

“As far as wanting to allegedly 'sabotage this project', to the
contrary Ms. Murphy wished this production nothing but the best.

Puerto Rico gave Ms. Murphy a brief insight into its wonderful
culture
and warm people. Ms. Murphy would like to take this opportunity to
thank the public for their continued support.”

Well, we'd like to take this opportunity to say we still think those
two are a couple of nutjobs!

Brittany Murphy Fired From Upcoming Film!
Filed under: Brittany Murphy > Exclusives! > Film Flickers > Twilight

So that's why they were there.

PerezHilton.com has learned exclusively that Brittany Murphy was
fired
from an upcoming film that was shooting in Puerto Rico. Apparently
the
wacktress has a habit of being difficult on set and everyone's tired
of her shit.

Shocking!

And it took all of two seconds for Brittany's to be replaced.
Twilight's Rachelle Lefevre hopped on a red eye as soon as Murphy was
out.

Our source also tell us that Brittany was so pissed about getting
booted from the film that she didn't want to leave Puerto Rico and
had
plans to sabotage the film.

But here's the really inneresting part. Her husband, Simon Monjack,
got into a fight with some locals, which makes us wonder: could there
be a connection between this whole Puerto Rico incident and her hubby
arriving at the El Lay airport "incoherent"???

They're probably happy about this little scuffle/illness thing. More
pills for both of them!

P.S. Simon was released from the hospital last night and managed to
pick up some burgers before heading home. Judging by his seksi
physique, he probably could have done without.

Brittany Murphy's Hubby In The Hospital!

Scary!

Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, was rushed to an El Lay
hospital on Saturday after the couple's flight landed from Puerto
Rico
at LAX!

The Clueless actress told EMTs she thought her husband was having an
asthma attack, but the professionals decided otherwise when they
boarded the plane and saw that Monjack was "incoherent."

No word on the severity of Brittany's husband's condition, but we
hope
he's doing alright!

P.S. Stop taking the crazy pills!

Brittany Murphy Cries Wolf Gunshot

She's CRAZY!

Brittany Murphy caused quite the ruckus last night, screaming about
gunshots outside her home in Hollywood.

Concerned neighbors called the police about Brittany's shouting and
when the police arrived on the scene, Brittany was standing on her
balcony still yelling about the "shooting!"

After an investigation, it was discovered that the noise was merely a
generator on the fritz from the strange and windy weather in El Lay
last night.

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

Most people won't even know who he was, his prime being a few

I'm sure his picture will cross the screen during the Emmy or Oscar awards

I don't know. How many did you make?

Seriously, though, would you prefer it if there were 40 or 50 posts
questioning whether he died of drug overdose, eating disorder, Aids, or by
the foul play of his spouse? Would that help make his legacy for you?

Those are the demographics, webtv is generally the home of the old, who
don't want to "fuss with computers" so they buy a gizmo to do the
internet. Nevermind that when they were 30 it was their peers that did
most of the work to bring about home computers.

If Robert Newton died today, how much do you really think people could
recite about him? Chances are good that the best they'd remember is
the Disney "Treasure Island", where he played Long John Silver. That's
the one film where the stood out, where many people are likely to still
be watching the movie. The fact that he died in 1956, relatively young
since he was only 50 at the time, makes him about par with the "Bat
Masterson" actor, since in both cases the work they are most remembered
for are about as far in the past.

Bessie Smith died in 1937, so when Janis Joplin told interviewers about
her love for the singer, Smith had been dead 30 years. Janis died forty
years ago next year, which puts her further in the past than Bessie Smith
was when "Cheap Thrills" came out. Janis died young, so she gets
remembered. James Gurley died at age 70, and nobody knows who he is.
But you can't have an electrified "Summertime" without James Gurley.
