Pilot casting: Bradley Whitford books 'Trophy Wife'
by Sandra Gonzalez
Bradley Whitford could be headed back to TV.
The West Wing alum has landed the lead in ABC’s comedy pilot, Trophy
Wife, starring alongside Malin Akerman, who plays, well, you know.
This would be Whitford’s first regular TV role since 2010's The Good
Guys.
The actor will play a twice-married father of three (terrible
children), who falls in love with reformed party girl, played by
Akerman. But the transition is rough to say the least. The
single-camera comedy comes from executive producers by Emily Halpern
and Sarah Haskinswhich.
Since The Good Guys, Whitford has had guest spots on The Mentalist,
Parks and Recreation, and appeared in last year’s The Cabin in the
Woods.
