Question: More on Scrubs! Will Carla be a series regular? Dinana
Ausiello: Forget series regular she wont even be a guest star. Judy
Reyes declined an invitation to make occasional appearances on Scrubs
2.0. According to Bill Lawrence, Reyes was only interested in
returning if it was on a full-time basis something that, creatively,
he couldnt make work. It was hard for us to wrap our head around why
a nurse would be spending so much time around med students, explains
Lawrence, who insists he harbors no hard feelings towards Reyes. In
fact, he plans to reach out to her again in hopes that shell change
her mind.

Ausiello: Chuck co-creator Chris Fedak confirms that Anna Wu will be
MIA during season 3s first 13 episodes, but theres a chance she
could pop up in the last six. Were still [writing the last] six
episodes, so I dont have anything first on that, he says. But I
would love for Anna to come back. Fedak adds that Julias absence at
Buy More will be referenced early in the season.

OK. Why is she gone in the first place?! This is written in such a way
to imply that Wu was busy doing something else, and so was unavailable,
but I don't buy that.

So did budget cuts force her off the show?!
And, if so, what's Wu's incentive in coming back to the show sometime
during the last 6 episodes?!

Yeah, it's odd that they didn't reference why she isn't going to be
there. They specifically said she's not there for the first 13
episodes so there must be a reason behind it which means it's probably
money. It could be Chuck leaving the Buy More but that would be such a
huge change it could kill the show and then why would Anna show up in
the back six episodes or even one of them?

Money.. Any work is good work so long as you get paid and while she
apparently worked on 4 movies this year only one is listed for next
year and it's already in post production. So it looks like she would
have the time to do a guest appearance.

Still.. You wouldn't think she would cost that much that they would
need to cut her. After all she's not been in that many episodes this
past season so it seems having her appear in three or four episodes
spread over the season wouldn't be that different. I can't imagine
they were planning to keep Dad around and other than him it seems like
the cast would be the same next season.

IMDB has her listed in four projects for 2009-2010, three completed
(CINDER, LOVE SICK DIARIES, THE DEEP END) and one in post-production
(HIGH SCHOOL). But they don't look like major parts though.

>So did budget cuts force her off the show?!

Sounds likely. There's always money to be saved when the cast gets
trimmed 8-(.

They know we're big fans of hers?

Janitor sure has a steady gig in 'Modern Family' and though it only
gets a little more than cancelled 'Hank', it remains because it's an
alleged "critical darling".

Show was pushing its limits in terms of freshness even the last 2
years on NBC.

I'm wondering why Sarah Chalke appears to be no longer part of 'Scrubs'.
At least they didn't show her in the promo I've seen.
