(This is the last "New Shows Poll" of 2005. While it's possible that I
may poll on the premieres of the various upcoming new Mid-Season shows,
the scattered premiere schedules such shows endure makes it less than
likely. At the least, I hope to be back in Fall 2006!)
Just one new series had its premiere tonight (10/12/05). It was:
"Freddie" (ABC)
All comments welcome; grades are good (letter grades preferred).

Um... C+? I laughed out loud 3 or 4 times. It's from Bruce Helford who
gave us the horrible, gimmicky 'The Drew Carey Show', so that should get
an automatic "D" rating, but yet, I find it more appealing than a 'Still
Standing'... or, at least the same quality, only different.

I laughed once and guffawed twice, better than I had expected but not
enough to justify spending thirty minutes on this show every week.
It's not bad. It's not good. Just your typical ABC sitcom. If you
like Hope & Faith but always thought that it wasn't ethnic or class
conscious enough, you'll love Freddie. If you like George Lopez or My
Wife and Kids but always thought that they weren't upscale enough,
you'll love Freddie. As for me, short of a guest appearance by Sarah
Michelle Geller, I don't expect to stick with it.

Thatt's just what a TV critic said about it: Just your typical ABC sitcom.
They haven't had a hit sitcom since 'Home Improvement' and haven't won
an Emmy since The Wonder Years'.

C-
Generic. Which wouldn't be that bad, but it's unfunny too.
Tonight's ep was the 2nd ep. The pilot episode explains who the characters
are, but that won't come till next week. So basically, I just sat there
wondering why on earth Madchen Amick was there.

zero. What's that, an F?
I saw the last 10 minutes before LOST. Didn't even crack a smile. Sister
was cute.

Oh, so she was the drunken, pill-popping sister-in-law of Freddie, eh?
Wow, her husband (Freddie's brother) dies and she lets herself go like
this? That's pretty sad.
They say the pilot stunk to high heaven and this episode that aired
tonight was better. Just imagine what we're in for next week.
I'd give the show a B.
Ms. Amick seems to be preparing for Mrs. Treadwell whenever someone does
a remake of "Ship Of Fools".
C.
A C+ to B-......wasn't all out dreadful as some people made it out to be.
Cracked a couple laughs.
This is the kind of show that will sit under the radar and manage to get
people to ask, "oh, is that still on?"
ya know, like "Rodney".

Ditto on my end.
Ian (Though why I stuck through that dreadful hour of "One Tree Hill",
I'll never know... Oh, yeah, I remember - because the Angels got
*ROBBED*, and then the baseball was over!)

Who's "we"? I'm not watching the show again.
D minus.
Ooo! Mean-ie!! ;)
Agree 100% so that's an F from me. Actually made me angry.

Yeah, 'Rodney' is a non entity and I'm sure if 'Freddie' doesn't get

rather watch 'Freddie'. I guess I'm all "funny parents and funny kids" out.

Hey, can I vote ZERO on Hot Properties now, just from the ads? I'd sooner
watch Freddie again.
More like "ugly fat guy gets hot skinny babe" out :)

God, I just want to stick a flaming hot pitchfork through Evan Handler's
stupid, bald head based on ads alone.
Intresting in the world of crudy/cruddy (sp?) sitcoms, some people will
suffer through 'Still Standing' or 'Yes, Dear?' or maybe 'Freddie', but
not 'Hot Properties' or the other way around.
