Just saw a promo on KTEH (SF Bay Area) for Life on Mars starting next week.
(The UK version, of COURSE). (Sorry didn't catch date & time yet.)

Thought some might be interested... Dunno if it's going to show up
elsewhere on PBS. (KTEH specializes in British fare.)

[Sheesh, I seem to have been posting a lot the last few days...
I may catch up to David soon.]

Hey, thanks, Pete. I was just mentioning this show to a friend
tonight. (Because of John Simm being in tonight's "Doctor Who.")
I haven't been to my post office box in a few days so haven't
gotten my January KTEH program guide yet.

>(Sorry didn't catch date & time yet.)

Fridays at 9:00 p.m., with repeats Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., and
of course corresponding overnight repeats.

Picked it up today. Guess who's on the cover? :-) And there's
a full-page cover story on page 3. Cool!

A friend in Wales sent me the DVDs for the first season, since I told
her I had enjoyed the American version, she thought I'd enjoy that one
even more. Haven't watched it yet, but... I'm sure she is right.

I enjoyed the UK version more. Not sure what you will think having
seen the USA version first. Both have their good and bad parts.

Quite a few of the USA episodes are almost direct copies of the UK versions.
Just with the setting changed. I liked both. A lot of people disliked
the ending to the USA version but I liked it quite a bit. I'm glad they
chose to do something different.

The friend said that I would like it because of the humor (for some
reason, she thinks I always get Britishisms). If I have trouble
understanding, she did say she'd explain it to me <grin>.

I'm glad they chose to actually "end" the show. Rather than just have
it fade off (a la The Unusuals), with story lines that really needed
to be 'settled'.
