Duo join cast of FX's 'Lights Out'
Catherine McCormack, Stacy Keach land roles in drama
By Nellie Andreeva

Catherine McCormack and Stacy Keach are set to co-star opposite Holt
McCallany on FX's upcoming drama series "Lights Out."

"Lights Out," from Fox TV Studios and FX Prods., centers on Patrick
"Lights" Leary (McCallany), an aging former heavyweight boxing
champion who struggles to support his wife (McCormack), a pediatric
orthopedic surgeon, and three daughters after his fighting days are
over.

Diagnosed with a neurological disorder called pugilistic dementia, he
takes a job as a legbreaker, collecting on unpaid gambling debts.

Keach will play Leary's father and former trainer, a widower who still
runs a gym.

Warren Leight serves as showrunner on "Lights," which was created by
Justin Zackham. The two are executive producing with Phillip Noyce and
Ross Fineman.

"Lights" was picked up to series in September, after Light was brought
in to tweak the original pilot, directed by Clark Johnson, and pen two
more scripts with Zackham.

As part of the revamp, most of the other key roles -- except for Leary
-- were recast.

McCormack replaces Melora Hardin, who played the wife in the pilot,
while Keach takes over for Kevin Conway.

British actress McCormack most recently starred in "28 Weeks Later."

Veteran Keach recently played a boxing trainer in the indie pic "The
Boxer."

Thanks for post David. I'm looking forward to this program.

Methinks the folks at THR need a fact checker tho.

The picture they used for Catherine McCormack is, in fact, Mary
McCormack.

Here's Catherine...

I honestly would rather have kept Melora Hardin.
But Stacy Keach is a good swap-in.

What the hell kind of "pediatric orthopedic surgeon" needs her husband
to support her? What, she works in a free clinic?
