An amusing Eastenders related moment on the train today while watching
Doomwatch The Movie :

"Dr Dell Shaw, an investigator from the British ecological watchdog
group Doomwatch, is sent to the remote island of Balfe to file a report
on the effects of a recent oil tanker spill. There he becomes
fascinated with the mysterious behavioural disorders of the locals -
their rudeness, random aggression - and the strange genetic prevalence
of thick lips and sloping brows. Investigation shows that the fish in
the area are suffering from hormonal disorders caused by leaking drums
of growth stimulants that have been dumped offshore. The islanders, as
a result of eating the fish, are in turn developing acromegaly, a
disorder of excessive hormonal growth, usually the result of family
interbreeding, which produces aggression and eventually madness."

Eastenders moment - step forward Pam St Clement as an islander, no
obvious sign of make-up applied.

Ah! A film indeed! With Eamonn Boyce, who previously played a
car-mechanic in an episode of "George and Midlred", and Michael
Brennan, who played Mr. Meeker in "All Creatures Great And  Small".

And let's not forget Ian Banner, the famous dr. Alex Cameron in "Dr.
Finlay"!

You're absolutely right! Of course I meant Ian Bannen, who played
Senior Police Officer Fields in the movie "Gandhi". Ian Banner is known
for his part in "Hope and Glory"from John Boorman.

If IMDB woul have been used you would've been right, but in this last
instance I did not glean the information from said insidious source.
