personally I though the was s very good. Will corrie become like 'will and
grace' with guest stars? who next?
It has already become like that.
Roy Hudd, Maureen Lipman, Honor Blackman, Norman Wisdom, Keith Duffy,
and so on. With oodles of pre-publicity.
Seems to me it's a bit like Corrie has almost reached that point in US
sitcoms where they start pausing for applause when a popular character
enters. Too self-conscious and too self-congratulatory.
The producers are entering precarious territory and have to tread
carefully, because the next step is jumping the shark.
SouthSeas
Craig Charles from Red Dwarf, apparently.

Bernard Cribbens... and Craig Charles to come.
I dunno if I'd class Keith Duffy as a "guest". Ciaran been a regular
character for a couple of years now, although you are right about the
pre-publicity.

I don't mind them having guest stars as long as the characters are there as
part of the story. Roy Hudd's Archie Shuttlecock was a wonderful character
and he fitted perfectly into the show. On the other hand, Norman Wisdom's
character was simply bizarre. I think the PTBs only had him in there so they
could have Norman do his trademark silly giggle. That sort of guest
appearance is unnecessary.

Actually, I'd like to see a bit of attempted shark jumping. Les and Cilla
have been in Spain. There are Great Whites in the Med...

I wear the cheese. It does not wear me.
And not forgetting possibly the best of the lot - Peter Kay!

I believe he was a non-speaking extra, at his own request.
Noddy Holder made a guest appearance on the 40th Anniversary epsiode.
Prince Charles appeared as himself, chatting to Audreh on TV.
Sir Trevor MacDonald was also seen as himself in the same episode.

We just had to endure Norman Wisdom. What crap. :-(

There are 12,000,000 sheep in Ontario.
Problem is 9,000,000 of them think they are people.

Thankfully, it was a very short stay

It takes two things to be prime minister - grey hair and haemorrhoids. The grey hair makes you look distinguished and the haemorrhoids make you look concerned.
Isn't that a Lowry painting on the wall in the Rovers near the toilets?

It *could* be an original on loan from The Lowry...
