Amanda asked for someone to email her last week's summary.
But unfortunately, I didn't keep her email address. So I'll
post it today and try and get the address tomorrow from work.
Here's the summary, in case she can see it today:

[ Sorry for all the dialogue. With all this murder mystery
crapola, this show had a ton of dialogue that needed to be
said. sigh. I know they meant this episode to be light hearted
after last week's show, but this episode has gotta rank way
down the bottom, for me anyway, in my list of favorite episodes.
Oh. And a note to Connie, who posted about that ponytail on Sela
Ward....I noticed that a *lot* in tonight's episode. And it bothered
me. :-) But not nearly as much as Frankie's hair. The whole episode
it was like that. She looked like a poodle.]

"Chemical Reaction"

Teaser:
Teddy, Alex and Falconer are at a gallery show.
Teddy seems to be describing a work of art...Alex
says she simply doesn't see it. Unfortunately, that's
because Teddy is describing a *man*. :-) "Silly me, I thought the
point of coming to a gallery opening was to look at *paintings*,"
Alex muses. "The point of coming to *this* gallery opening
is to look at *men*...for YOU," Teddy tells her. "I came, I
saw, I'm going home to watch tv," Alex says. "It's a little
known fact that the BEST shows are on Saturday night..." she finishes.
Teddy gives up. She suggests they say good bye to their host and
then leave. As they make their way toward their host, they notice
their host having an argument with his wife. She's screaming at
him: "How could you do this to me????" "Maybe now isn't such a good
time," Falconer says. The wife is comforted by a woman. "Henry is a
fool, Rita, a complete fool...Here, have yourself a drink." She hands
her a cocktail. Rita drinks it. The woman makes her way across the
room and passes in front of Teddy, Alex and Falconer. Teddy asks her
if there's anything they can do. The woman tells her to eat, drink, and
buy a few paintings! Falconer suggests they leave now. "Ooooh....incoming,
one o'clock!" Teddy says to Alex, when a tall, handsome man comes into
the scene. "Yes, I see him, no, I'm not interested," Alex sighs.
"You know me," Teddy tells her, "I don' push..." Teddy then walks behind
the gentleman and nudges him enough so that he bumps into Alex and
spills his red drink all over Alex's nice white evening outfit.
"Oh I'm so sorry!!! I don't know how I could have been so clumsy!"
Alex tells him she knows it wasn't HIS fault, as she glares at Teddy,
who is looking VERY smug hugging Falconer. "I insist on buying you
a new one, " the stranger continues, "What size are you --- a two?"
Alex looks thrilled....and introduces herself. "Dr. Richard Drone..."
He asks for her telephone number...as she's writing her number down,
Teddy goes over to her. "He's good looking, he's a doctor...AND
he thinks you're a size TWO???? Tell me this isn't better than watching
tv.." A woman screams. She calls for help. The doctor goes over
to where the other woman, Rita, is lying on the floor. Henry, the
man she was fighting with, comes running into the room.... The doctor
apologizes and says she's dead. Henry is duly shocked.

Act I
At the Sweet Sixteen, Alex and Teddy are sitting in a booth, (or it could
have the counter, I can't remember) with Frankie pouring salt into shakers.
"She dropped dead right there in the gallery????" Teddy confirms it and
says that some moron standing behind her thought it was _performance art_.
She rolls her eyes. Frankie thinks Poor Rita, then Teddy corrects her:
"Poor Alex! She was talking to a serious hunk when all this commotion
went down." Alex tells them that Dr. Drone called her this morning and
they're going out that night. Frankie wants to hear about him, but
Alex is a little weary after the Big Al Fiasco...Frankie promises not
to utter a single critical word. Alex admits that not even Bea or Frankie
could find fault with this guy...he's a very prominent anaesthesiologist.
[ WHEW! That was a tough one for a sleepy Sunday morning! And no corrections,
thank you very much. I don't *care* if it's wrong or not! :-) ]
"He's put many famous people to sleep!" she brags. Georgie comes in.
She looks fabulous! Just like the old Georgie. The sisters are surprised
when they find out Georgie is there to work, not to eat. Georgie assures
them she feels just fine. They all are just sitting there with their
jaws dropped. "Don't I look fine??" she frets. Of course she does,
they recover and tell her. Georgie goes in the back to take inventory.
The sisters can't get over how great she looks. "She's not the same
person who wanted to die a few weeks ago," Alex says. Georgie's in
therapy and taking anti-depressant medication we find out. "Maybe the
worst really has passed," Frankie says.
----
Teddy's apartment, she's watching an old movie on tv...Falconer comes
up the stairs. "The bald guy did it," he tells her. She wants to know
what powers of deductive reasoning led him to that conclusion...turns
out he saw that one before. Teddy asks him if he talked to the coroner.
He did, but he doesn't want to tell her anything, since it's confidential.
Teddy gets all excited: " Then you think someone may have actually killed
her!!!! Who? WHO?????" she wants to know. "Mr. Peanut. Rita Zaler was
definitely allergic to *everything*....strawberries, perfume, nuts...you
name it. We do not investigate accidental deaths." "But what if it wasn't
accidental? What if it was ... murder?" Teddy wonders. Falconer doesn't
take her seriously and tells her if it was murder they're in trouble,
because it's tough to "get prints off a pistachio". Teddy presses on.
"I'm *serious*. You saw her slap her husband...maybe she caught him in
a lie. Something he didn't want her to know. So he has to get rid of
her. He knows she's allergic and BAM! He slips her the nuts." Falconer
tells her SHE'S nuts because the husband wasn't even in the room at
the time. [ JB note: Not for nuthin, but I gotta admit I had this
all figured out as soon as I saw the gallery opening scene. (she says
as she pats herself on the back) :-) ] Teddy continues. That's
why it's the perfect crime. "But it's no match for your logic and
my intuition! If we teamed up, we could crack this case! Just like
Dick and Dora..." "Who?" "You know, from The Fat Man," Teddy says,
as she looks at the tv, showing a take off of "Nick and Nora" from
The Thin Man. Teddy is playing Dora, and Falconer is playing Dick.
A scene shows. Back in real life, Falcoer says to Teddy, "Except
that's tv, *Dora*, and *this* is real life. And you and I are
not teaming up to do anything....except maybe this.." they kiss. "Case
closed?" he asks. "Case closed," Teddy sighs... and she looks at
the tv, where Teddy-Dora is telling her in an English accent, "Well
of course she was murdered darling. what does he think we were born
yesterday?"
---
At the Sweet Sixteen, Frankie is telling the babysitter on the phone
that Thomas George is just getting over a cold and she doesn't want
him going outside. She should be home in a little while. Georgie over
hears the conversation, and when Frankie hangs up, she tries to convince
her to go home and she'll lock up. Frankie doesn't think that's a good
idea because she doesn't want to put too much stress on her in the
first day back to the diner. Georgie tells her she knows she means
well and she loves her for it, but she has to stop coddling her.
She's better now. Frankie relents and goes home. Teen Georgie
appears just as Georgie checks her watch. "Time for your medicine."
Georgie asks Teen Georgie "Where's my spoonful of sugar?" Georgie
tells T-Georgie that she doesn't understand why she needs her medicine
anymore. T-Georgie begs her to stop fooling around and take the
medicine: "The doctor said..." Georgie interrupts her: "The doctor
said to take the medicine...and I did. And now I'm better. End of
story." She tosses the pills out in the garbage can.

----

Alex is sitting on her couch with Dr. Drone. She's telling him
how *enjoyable* the dinner was over coffee, except she keeps yawning.
And dropping off to sleep. He's going on and on with some story about
the owner of the restaurant and him....Alex keeps yawning. She
apologizes for nodding off, it must have been the wine..."..and thank
you for not letting my hair catch fire on that candle."
The Dr. tells her he's concerned about her. Alex wonders if it's
possible if the stuff he uses sticks to his clothes or his skin
or something...he never heard of that. Alex yawns again as she's
overpouring a cup of coffee. "Alex!" She wakes up. Apologizes.
He decides he really should be going. She thanks him for a wonderful
evening. "One of many more to come!" he promises her. She turns her
back to the door as he leaves so she can yawn again without him
seeing her.
---
Teddy and Falconer are getting ready for a night out, which Falconer
arranged with his partner. "Tonight, I am NOT a detective! I don't
even WANT to know about the police! Maybe we can see a movie...you know,
Robocop 3 is playing..." he tells her. She appears with a cake box.
he wants to know what's in the box. "Nothing. Just a cake." "For the
movies, I prefer popcorn." Teddy wants to make a little stop along
the way. "Sort of a ...condolence call," she tells him. Change of
scenes. They're in the apartment above the gallery where the murder
occurred, with Henry Zaler. They're talking. Teddy explains that they
just felt they should stop by with the cake, which she 'made herself'.
Falconer contradicts her, "You never cooked a day in your life."
Henry wishes he could share it with them, but he has an appointment
with a client. "What's that lovely fragrance I smell?" Teddy asks.
Henry tells her it's Shalimar....Rita's favorite perfume. "I spray
it around to remind me of her..." Falconer wants to leave, but
Teddy insists on having a slice of cake with Henry. Falconer looks
at her, completely amusingly annoyed. Henry relents, and goes to
get a knife. Teddy jumps over and starts going through his stuff.
"he seems awfully anxious for us to leave!" "Not as anxious as *I*
am," Falconer tells her. "Stop snooping!" "I'm not snooping, I'm
investigating," Teddy tells him. Murder mystery music plays in the
background. Falconer tries to get her to leave. She stops him.
"His wife was *allergic* to perfume, remember??? That is NOT her
Shalimar I smell, it's a rat. Or a lover. Or both!" Henry calls
out he'll be right there. "Take your time!" Teddy answers.
Falconer is clearly irritated now. "Will you stop playing Teddy
Reed, Girl Detective." "That man murdered his wife, and I'm going
to prove it if it kills me!" Teddy whispers and then gasps
as a knife appears at her throat. "it's for the cake," Henry tells
her. "It's for the *cake*," Falconer quips with a chuckle. Teddy
rolls her eyes.

Act II
At the gallery, during another show. Frankie, Georgie, Teddy and
Alex are mulling around. "Is he the one who murdered his wife?"
Frankie asks. "Frankie! Shhhhh!" Teddy tells her. Teddy then
proceeds to tell her how yesterday this gallery collection was
in his wife's name and today he's this rich, merry, widower
free to run off with his mistress. She needs proof, since Falconer
won't lock somebody up based on intuition. Alex and Georgie are
looking at a 'painting'. It's completely white and looks like the
ceilings you see in hotels with the bumpy look to them. "Looks
like the wall of my garage," Georgie says. Alex tells her, "Oh,
that's what you know about modern art. It's a ... polar bear
eating vanilla ice cream in a snowstorm!" Georgie asks Alex about
Richard. At the mere mention of his name, Alex begins to yawn.
She tells her that he was telling her the most amusing anecdote
about a trip he took to Provence. (Of course, Alex pronounces it
"Pro-vahnce") "Unfortunately, I think I nodded off." Georgie invites
her and Richard over for dinner. Frankie asks her if she thinks she's
up to it. Kind of with an irritation in her voice, Georgie says,
"Sure I'm sure." Teddy interrupts them. "Hey. You guys aren't here
to gab. You're here to distract Henry." She tells them that she wants
them to distract Henry while she sneaks upstairs to look for clues.
They can't believe she's serious. Henry comes over and all of a sudden
they express interest in that "Polar Bear" painting. While they're
keeping him occupied, more spy music plays, Teddy sneaks upstairs.
While she's up there, his personal phone line starts ringing. Nowhere
for Teddy to hide up there, she stares at the ringing phone on the
desk and looks like she wonders what's going to happen now. The
sisters panic as henry starts up the stairs. They know they have
to do something, but what??? "Think!!!" Frankie whisper-yells.
Alex blurts out, "Henry!" He stops on the stairs. "this painting.
I *must* buy it!" He looks toward the room upstairs, deciding what
to do. He starts back down the stairs. he tells Alex it's a wonderful
investment. How much of an investment, she wonders. Five thousand
dollars worth. The sisters grimace. Teddy glances at the phone.
The answering machine picks it up. Teddy can't believe what she hears.
"Henry darling. I can't believe I can finally call you without someone
overhearing. I'll come to your place tonight at 7:30. I'm counting the
minutes..." click.
---
Big Al is doing a commercial for Price Town at Alex's show. After
the commercial, Alex goes to walk away, but Big Al calls out after
her. "Alex, you know you can't avoid me for the rest of our lives."
Alex tells him she didn't think he'd want to see her. He tells her
he doesn't feel badly. Alex congratulates him on the new store.
Big Al asks her to come by the grand opening tomorrow, since a big
star like her would draw a big crowd. They'll hold a raffle for a free
dinner with her. She accepts. Richard comes by to pick her up for
dinner. She reluctantly introduces them to each other. She yawns.
Big Al says, "Where you taking her, *Dick*." :-D He tells him that
she's taking him to dinner at her sister's. Richard leaves to go get
the car. Alex feels badly for
Big Al. Big Al tells her not to worry. He wishes her the best, and
if the doctor doesn't treat her right, he'll operate on HIM.
Alex smiles adoringly at Big Al.
---
Teddy is sitting outside the gallery, on a stakeout, waiting for
the mystery woman who will be visiting Henry. Falconer suddenly
opens the car door and Teddy jumps. "First rule on a stakeout:
Lock the doors!" Teddy wants to know how he knew where to find her.
Elementary, he tells her...he asked her sisters. Teddy tells him
her new theory on who killed Rita. Henry did it with an accomplice.
Perfect alibi for him was established when he staged the fight in
the gallery. When he left the room, the accomplice "slash lover"
does the dirty work. Falconer tells her she's beautiful when
she's sleuthy. Teddy tries to look through binoculars to watch
for the woman, but Falconer kisses her neck. "Is this what you do
on all your stakeouts?" "Only when my partner remembers to shave."
Teddy smiles and they get all hot and heavy. The camera pans over
to the gallery door. They miss the woman entering the gallery.
----
Laughter abounds at the dinner table while Richard is telling a
story. He's talking about playing cards with Jonas Salk. Everyone
clearly loves Richard. Richard compliments Georgie on the pot roast.
John compliments Richard on the wine. Richard tells them it's
from Bordeaux. He picked up on his last trip there. Georgie sighs.
She always wanted to go to France, she tells him. "I was just saying
to Alex how kind it was of you to invite me over here tonight..."
the camera shows Alex, who's snoring as she holds her fork. Richard
nudges her. "Uhh..What?" She clears her throat. "Did I miss something?"
They all gawk at her, with that disapproving look. Later, in the kitchen,
Frankie is commenting on Richard. "I know I probably shouldn't say
this, but on the dating food chain, Big Al Barker is still walking on
all fours while Richard the dreamboat is..." "Homo-Erectus!" Bea finishes
for her. They giggle. Alex begs for more coffee. Bea asks her what's
wrong with her, falling asleep at the dinner table. Alex doesn't understand
it either. She just can't control herself. "It's like I'm having some
sort of strange chemical reaction," she says. "Sounds like love," Frankie
tells her. "It feels more like narcilepsy!" Alex says. John comes in
the room. "Alex, did you know that Richard once bungee jumped with
*Sting*??? I could listen to this man all night." Bea remarks that this
man is the find of a lifetime. As they go back in the dining room,
Alex begs them to kick her HARD if she falls asleep again. John
asks Georgie if she's okay. She lies and tells him she's fine. Alone
in the kitchen, Georgie walks over to the counter and says, "I
can't *do* this." Teen Georgie asks her if something's the matter.
Georgie tells her to go away. T-Georgie tells her she shouldn't have
thrown that medicine away and begs her to call the doctor. Georgie
tells her she's going to get through this on her own. She *won't*
fall apart again. She gets herself together and goes back into the
dining room.
---
Teddy and Falconer, the next morning, smooching again. [ do they ever
stop?? :-) ] In the middle of a kiss, Teddy springs up. "The guest
list from the gallery opening. I bet his lover's name is *on* that
list." Falconer tries to get her to give this whole thing up.
She wonders if he's just the least bit curious. He denies it.
Or maybe he's just the least bit curious because she's pretty good
at this detective stuff. "Oh there you go. And in MY spare time, I
design dresses." She hits him with a pillow. They laugh. The phone
rings. It's for Falconer. "Henry Zaler? No kidding." As he
is talking on the phone, Teddy is guessing that she was right,
and that henry confessed to doing it. He hangs up the phone.
"You finally going to treat Henry Zaler as a suspect?" she asks.
"No, I'm going to treat him as a corpse. He's dead." Teddy looks
off into the distance as Falconer leaves.

Act III
Crime scene. Henry Zaler's apartment. Police scurrying around, doing
that detective thing. Falconer is taking notes. Teddy and Cat come in.
Falconer wants to know how they got in. Teddy hands him his badge. "You
left this on the dresser." he tells them to go now. Teddy lies that
Cat is taking a criminology course this semester and she thought it
would be a good idea for her to get first hand experience. "So tell us.
How did he die," Teddy asks. "In a bowl of chili," Falconer says. "What
a way to die!" Cat says. Teddy offers a new theory: Henry and his lover
conspire to murder his wife. then Henry tries to dump his lover
because he wants all the money for himself. She finds out; she spikes
the chili. You find the lover, you find the killer and solve your crime.
"Well you're half right. Henry Zaler did kill his wife." Teddy: "Jessica
Fletcher, eat your heart out!" "Nice goin', Mom!" Cat gives her a high-five.
"..and then distraught over what he'd done, he took his own life."
"With chili?" Cat asks. "Laced with strichnine." Falconer tells her.
"Who told you that? Inspector Clouseau?" Teddy says sarcastically.
Henry Zaler wrote a suicide note. [Typed, of course. Notice how *no
one* on tv EVER handwrites suicide notes?? ;-) ] Teddy persists.
"He was murdered, and I can prove it. Time of death?" "7:30." "That's
exactly when his lover said she'd be here." He reminds her that they
staked out the gallery, and no one ever showed. "Yeah, but how could
we see anything with the windows all fogged up??" Cat clears her throat.
"I didn't hear that." she mumbles. Teddy remembers that the evidence
is still here on that tape. She hits the answering machine with a pencil.
No messages. Tape is gone. Teddy still wants that guest list. Cat
reminds her that she mentioned Rita had a sister. Teddy gets the idea
to invite her sister over for tea...*and* the guest list.
---
Big Al Barker at his Grand Opening...he's telling people gathered what
they're giving away, but then he sees Alex. He brings her up on the stage.
She's got her celebrity smile on. They give away the dinner with her.
The dinner date will be at the Velvet Taco in "beautiful, downtown
Winnetka..." Alex covers the mike. "That's where you taught me the
Mexican Hat Dance.." she says sweetly. "I remember, I remember..." he
says. They roll the raffle tickets around. She draws the winner.
"And, the winner is: Doctor Richard...Drone?" They look disappointed,
the two of them. Richard comes up to the stage. When Big Al remarks
about how it's such a coincidence, Richard tells them that he bought
$500 worth of tickets. Oh. :-)
----
Teddy welcomes Josie, Rita's sister. She tells her how sorry she
is. Josie breaks down when she says she'll do anything to help ...
Teddy comforts her and tells her if it were one of her sisters, she'd
be inconsolable. And to find out it was Henry who killed her, Josie is
even more upset. Teddy asks her for the guest list. They're drinking
tea. Josie doesn't understand why Teddy is interested in the guest list.
Teddy explains that she has reason to believe that Henry didn't work alone,
and whoever he was working with killed him, too. Josie looks shocked.
She reminds Teddy that the police are saying that his death was a
suicide. Teddy says they're just being pigheaded because it's *obvious*
that the two are related. "Death by peanuts, death by chili." So she
finishes and tells her she wants the guest list becaues his accomplice
could be on the guest list. "But, why? Why would anyone want to kill
Rita?" Josie wants to know. Teddy asks Josie if Rita knew Henry was
having an affair. Josie's expression changes. "Henry? That's ridiculous.
With whom?" Teddy tells her she's not sure, but whoever it was was his
accomplice. The tea kettle whistles. "you go through the list. I'll
go make the tea," Josie tells Teddy.
----
Sweet Sixteen. Frankie and Georgie are cleaning up tables. Frankie
points to a group of young girls in a booth. "Look at them. I bet
they're talking about the same things that we were talking about when
we were their age...guys...clothes...guys.." Frankie walks away.
"They don't know how lucky they are. It gets so much harder later
on," Georgie says to herself. A boy walks past. Georgie calls out
as she drops the bustray..."Trevor??" The boy turns around. Of course
it's not him. "Oh God," she says as Georgie goes running outside.
Frankie runs out after her. She tries to comfort her. Georgie asks
her as she's crying, "Why can't I control this?" Frankie suggests
that maybe the medication needs to be stronger. "Oh just shut up about
the medication!" Georgie snaps. Then she apologizes. She tells her
she stopped taking the medication because she didn't know where the
medication ended and she began. She didn't want to lead her life addicted
to painkillers, dulled and dependent. Frankie tries to tell her it
doesn't have to be like that. "Besides, look at how much pain you're
in." "Maybe that's what I deserve," Georgie says as she goes back
inside.
---
Teddy and Josie, going over the guest list, couple by couple.
Josie doesn't understand what good it's doing. She tries to
convince Teddy that the police are right: Henry killed Rita, and
then killed himself. "Josie, Henry's lover made plans to meet
him at his apartment last night." Josie is obviously SHAKEN.
"How do you know that?" she asks. Teddy says quite smugly, "I
*heard* her. On the answering machine." "You haven't touched
your tea, let me warm it up for you," Josie says quietly. [At
this point on the cassette, I just heard myself say out loud, "Teddy
you are *so* stupid." :-) ] Teddy smells something. "That fragrance
you're wearing...it's so familiar. What is it?" she asks Josie.
"Shalimar." Teddy's eyes pop. "I understand Rita was deathly
allergic to perfume..." "Among other things. Lucky for me, I
don't share her fatal flaws." Suddenly the TV version of Falconer-Dick
and Teddy-Dora appear on tv. "Dahling, I warned you to stay out
of this," Dick says to Dora. "How was I supposed to know that she
was after her own sister's husband?" Dora asks. Dick responds, "Hmmm...
as if THAT never happens." Dora says to Teddy, "So sorry, dear. But
if I were you, Iwouldn't touch that tea!" Teddy looks down at her
cup. Josie says, from the kitchen area, "Teddy, what a lovely collection
of cutlery." SWIPE, she takes a HUGE cleaver out of the holder. "Do
you cook?" "Uhh, no!" "I love to cook. It relaxes me. It's such a
wonderful way to show people how you feel about them." WHACK! She
throws the cleaver into the board on the counter. "Drink up!"
Teddy gulps. (not the tea, just a gulp. :-) )
---

Act IV

Falconer sees Cat. He asks where Teddy is. "Out trying to crack
the case of the contaminated chili." He reminds her he told her
to keep an eye on her for him. She laughs. "yeah, but she's like
Miss Marple on speed, you know?" "Well that's okay, because it's
all been taken care of." "Oh you caught the bad guy?" "Bad *girl*
in this case." Cat figures her mom wasn't *way* off then. Falconer
tells her that it seems Rita and Henry were murdered. She got the
program right, just not the suspect. "What makes you say that?" Cat
asks. Falconer found Rita's will in Henry's apartment. Seems she
was going to leave everything to him. But in the event of his
death, it would all go to Josie, her sister. Cat panics. "Uhh,
detective, Rita's sister is NOT at her place," she tells him when
he tells her a car is on its way over to pick up her sister.
"She's not? how do you know that?" he wants to know. "She's
at my mom's." Falconer goes racing across the street to his
car.
---
Richard and Alex at the Velvet Taco. He doesn't really like it
there. He seems surprised that Alex likes this kind of place.
She tells him at one point she probably wouldn't have but she's
more open now. He asks the guitar player to play something for them.
He starts to play. She looks off, clearly not enjoying herself.
He senses there's something wrong. He has noticed that he 'knocks her out'
when they're together. She tells him she's mortified that that's
happening, and she really doesn't understand why it happens. He asks
her if there's someone she's dreaming about when she nods off.
She admits there is. He tells her, "Well there's your answer."
She asks him if he wouldn't mind if they skipped dessert. He says
of course not. He wished her well as she said goodbye, and then,
"Sweet dreams, Alex." She smiled appreciatingly. She turns and goes.
He looks very disappointed.
----
Teddy spills the tea "accidentally". "Well at least the guest list
isn't ruined!" she says hopefully, trying to sound non chalant.
"Teddy, I think we *both* know that the guest list isn't necessary."
Teddy says, "Why do you say that?" "Because my name isn't on it."
Teddy asks her why she did it. Apparently Josie and Henry were
in love. Then Josie went off to cooking school, and when she
returned, Rita and Henry had fallen in love. "Can you imagine one
sister doing that to another?" "As a matter of fact, I can," Teddy
replies. Then their parents died. They took turns deciding what
they wanted. All Rita wanted was her father's hideous art collection.
"Who'd have guessed it'd be worth millions one day?" she says disgustedly.
"So Rita ended up with everything...husband and the fortune," Teddy
finished. "And I got nothing..." she picks up the cleaver..."except
some chipped china!" SLAM goes the cleaver into the board again.
Teddy presses on for more details. "I know you slipped the strichnine
into Henry's chili. But for Rita?" "Peanut oil in her daquiri."
"Of course, because you knew about all of her allergies......what do
you have in mind for me?" Teddy asks. "Chinese herbal tea. In small
doses it's medicinal. But one cupful it's lethal. Bottoms up,
Teddy." Teddy hesitates. "DRINK," she's holding the cleaver.
Falconer comes crashing through the door. "FREEZE!" Teddy throws
the tea at her. Josie screams. Falconer tells the cop with him
to take her downtown...and don't let her feed anything to you...
He asks Teddy if she's okay. "Oh sure. I...I..I had everything...under
contr...Okay. Fine. You saved my life." "You're welcome." He holds her.
"Oh My God. OH My God. Falconer. I could have been killed. Oh my god."
----
Frankie goes to see John and Georgie. Frankie tells John about how
Georgie fell apart at the Sweet Sixteen. He can't believe it.
Then she tells him how she stopped taking her medication. He doesn't
understand it. He's in the middle of asking Frankie if Georgie's trying
to self-destruct, and Georgie hears him. She sees Frankie and says,
"Of course, you told him." They argue about the medication. Georgie
tries to not make it a big deal. She tries to tell them that every
time she took one, it was like a sign: "You're weak. You're helpless."
Frankie explains to her that mom takes blood pressure medicine every
day, does that maker her weak? Alex had chemo, does she think any less
of her for *that*? Georgie doesn't see it as the same thing. Frankie
wants to know why she can't be as generous towards herself as everyone
else. "Maybe I like everyone else better. Besides. It's a crutch."
"SO USE A CRUTCH! Georgie, I know how much you hate leaning on
anything, anyone...when I think about how I almost lost you...."
John tells her. "Do anything you have to do to get well. Please.
And let me *in*. Let me help you. Let us all help you." Georgie's
not sure if she knows how to do that. "You'll learn," he tells her.

Alex goes to Big Al. She explains to him that she has made the wrong
choice, and she wants to return herself to him. She's very sorry.
he reminds her that the folks will be awfully disappointed that
she's giving up that rich doctor of hers. She tells her she doesn't
give a damn what anyone thinks. He looks hesitant. She wants him
to say something. He tells her that saying goodbye the first
time was really rough, and he doesn't want to have to do that again.
He wants her to be SURE that she's doing the right thing. She
tells him she's very sure. "Big Al, When I'm with you, I'm more
alive and awake than I've ever been. I've missed your kindness,
your jokes, that expression on your face that says 'what the hell --
let's have fun', and the way you look at me, and the way you touch
me, and I'm sure." They kiss. "I have my girl back," he says very
softly and very affectionately. :-)

At Alex's. Teddy's explaining to everyone that Rita had been using
her inheritance to keep Henry in line for years. So when Josie
came to him with plans to bump Rita off, he jumped. Falconer continued.
But when Henry didn't know was that his lover had the same fate
in mind for him. "I thought he left a suicide note," Frankie mused.
"No, Josie wrote it!" Teddy said. "The type matched her typewriter we
found at her place," Falconer explained. "You two make a damn good
team!" Bea says. "Like Dick and Dora!" Alex pipes in. "FROM THE FAT MAN!"
Frankie says. They laugh. "Don't encourage her," Falconer warns with a
smile. The doorbell rings. "That would be my date!" Alex says.
"The doctor?" Bea asks. "Not exactly, Mom." Big Al comes through the
door. Bea and Frankie's expressions are PRICELESS. "Hello Mr. Barker."
"Hello, Ladies! did you miss me????" "Ohhh! Sister Teddy! And you must
be Detective Falconer! Still dodging those bullets?" They move into the
background. Alex tells Bea and Frankie she knows how they feel about
him but she doesn't care. This time she wins. "Now. Try and be pleasant.
Or at least, fake it," she says leading the three of them into the room.
----
Teddy and Falconer standing under the roof-window in her apartment.
Teddy's looking out the window. "Whats that guy doing?" Falconer looks.
"He's carrying a carpet." "You know. You could hide a body in a thing
like that," she says. "I think it's time for you to turn in your
badge, because your detective days are *over*." She resists. He brings
her closer to him. "Stop thinking that everything you see is a clue,
and a mystery. It was fun, while it lasted. But it's over." "Alright.
Case closed," she says as they lean in for a looooong kiss. Suddenly a
body slides down the roof-window, and then crashes into the garbage below.
A cat meows. They don't hear a thing.

Next, on Sisters:
Falconer shot a guy, but there's a question of whether or not the
guy was armed or not, and it's troubling Falconer.

Trevor disappears from the place he's at. Georgie blames it on
John, because she says she didn't want to send him away. Later,
Georgie suggests they separate.
