Is Daisy Ryder's sister?
She sure looks like Ryder wearing a wig; same rough facial features.
Is that the voice that Ryder heard?
Is she the missing person in the torn photo?
So many questions, so little time.
Enquiring minds want to know!
Daisy, Daisy
Give us your answer true.
That bitch that is Ryder's mother
Is she your mother too?
Diva
I never thought about any ties to Ryder (interesting thought though).
However, yesterday as I watched her kiss Lauren's ass for the sales job I
was thinking she will be ripping her off in no time. No doubt she will be a
bad influence on Abby.

And why, pray tell, did she brush off Amber when Amber volunteered to
take her to Fenmore's and introduce her to Lauren? I smell a very
large rat - like Daisy is a pathological liar or, as you speculate, a
thief in waiting? I immediately thought of Eddie Haskell.

I never got into Lucy that much from that era of TV (I'm 41 but remember
most of the older shows on re-runs when I was a child). I much preferred
The Honeymooners or Andy Griffith (or Leave It To Beaver).
Dave - Toronto
Yeah. What was up with that? My head zigged after they'd set me up to
zag, and not in a good way.
I'm thinking Mark was right, and Ryder's mother will turn out to be Sheila
and Daisy will turn out to be the daughter (Sheila did supposedly have a
daughter with Massimo Marone on B&B) I think that's why she was so trying to
get the job and that she knows exactly who Lauren is. I hope not, but I
think so.

UGH I so hope this is NOT the case. I don't want to see this nor more of
anything Sheila. She's ran her course along with her evilness. IMHO

Niki
I don't get how you can think characters like Ryan or Brad have run
their course, but still see fit to keep bringing back Sheila, with
each return being even more preposterously unbelievable than the last.
Shirl

Cheri
I never said anything about Ryan or Brad. Reread my post. I do NOT want
to see anymore of Sheila. Ever.

That was my thought too.

Niki
Niki, I don't think Shirl was directing the comment at you in
particular when she said "you"--she likely meant Y&R, as in how can
Y&R think Ryan and Brad have no storylines left in them, but that
Sheila should be resuscitated endlessly.
Speaking of Ryan, it was nice to hear him brought up on today's
show.
And while I'm on the increasingly rare subject of things I liked about
the show, I should also mention that
* I liked the scenes between Jill and Katherine today (very
touching),
* I liked Lily's jacket,
* I liked that Neil acknowledged how much time he WASTED at Newman,
* I LOVED that AT NO TIME did any Fishwin, Deacon, Amber or Abby make
an appearance.
* I LOVED that I didn't have to hear any hypocrites slamming Billy
for making the Newmans feel bad about Victor's evil deeds.
I was, however, APPALLED that Katherine was talking about an IPO in
this market . . . it's idiotic, but then I'm not a GC business genius.
Cheri:

Niki:

LOL. I was referring to TPTB!
Ryan was written out because his character had "run its course" -- no
more interesting story to tell for him. He was about to re-marry
Victoria, but there was no more interesting story for him? Brad had
been on the canvas for decades...then suddenly there was nothing left
to do with him but KILL him off?
But *SHEILA* still has more "interesting" story to be told even after
the ridiculous return scenarios and send-offs we've seen to date?
Isn't ONE psycho, far-fetched complete make-over at a time (Patty)
enough?
Shirl
I know, Niki. When I said "you" I was referring to TPTB, not to *you*
personally.
Shirl
Thank you. That's precisely what I meant.

Good question. I didn't think about this til just now. I love Kay but
she reminds me of Marge Schott, a lot. Nothing wrong with inheriting
hubby's business and taking over, just so long as you have a clue as to
what you're doing. I suppose with those millions going on, you learn

I have no idea. Same goes for John Abbott. I would assume they're
both educated at least through college because they come from money,
but they were before my time . . . Does anyone know what age bracket
John and Katherine were in when they started on the show?
And speaking of things that appall me, WHAT THE HELL is up with Jill
dashing to the hospital just because her "son" Cain "needed her" even
though Jill made exactly ZERO appearances at the hospital when Billy,
her ACTUAL son, was standing vigil at the deathbed of his beloved
niece? I know Jill has always been a bit self-centered and arguably
indifferent toward Billy, but the two events are so close in time that
her favoritism is GLARING, FLAGRANT and EGREGIOUS. Now I'm annoyed
with myself for being moved by her scenes with Katherine from the
other day.

On that subject, my boss and I regularly have lunch at an Italian
restaurant in Newport Beach, small place that has a TV tucked into the
corner of the bar. Our Host, Dominoco, always has "I Love Lucy" reruns
on when we have lunch there. We got to know him well enough to finally
tease him about his addiction to Loosey and Ricky. He said "I Love
Lucy" and some of the shows you mention above helped him learn
English. Nice guy.

Broke and feeling like a bad mother (she'd just lost Daniel to Danny),
I could see Phyllis impetuously giving the baby away or even selling
it.
We'll see.
But then the previews showed shorter, curlier hair for Phyl...so maybe
they're trying to downplay any resemblance.
Absolutely not IMO. There is nothing in Phylliss' make up that would ever
suggest giving a baby away or selling it. Of course, they could change
history, but it wouldn't be plausible to me.
Cheri
Could be her younger sister. Phyllis is on bad terms with her
parents, so who knows if she even knows she has one.

That could be a definite twist.
Cheri
Dave - Toronto
I think so too.
Cheri
yeah, well, it was obviously put on for *some* reason! Daisy knows
full well that it was Abby flirting with Ryder and not the other way
around.
I was wondering if Deacon Sharpe is pulling Daisy's strings and is
setting Ryder up to go back to jail. Last time we saw Deacon and
Ryder together Ryder was threatening Deacon, and I don't think he
liked that too much.

Daisy does have red hair . . . and so does Lauren . . . and there
apparently is a plot afoot to hurt "the Baldwins" (Michael, Lauren and
Fenn are the only "Baldwins"), so perhaps Daisy is connected to Lauren
somehow.

I think she will turn out to be Sheilas' daughter. I absolutely hope Sheila
is nowhere in the future, but I think she will be.
Cheri
My guess? She is Sheila Carter's daughter by Massimo Maroni, making
her Ryder's half sister -- and making Sheila the woman that even tough
guy Deacon Sharpe is terrified of. That's why Ryde said his mother
wants him and Deacon to bring down the Baldwins next ... Sheila's long
standing hatred for Lauren.

Does anyone remember if Sheila slept with Tom when they were in

Unless they were born two years ago, Ryder and Daisy *shouldn't* be

I'd be cool with Larry coming back. However, I'd really like to see Bobby

I'd go for Bobby too. Some villains are better than others. Larry rocks,
Bobby rocks. Go away Adam and Patty.
--
Niki
- Sheila had a daughter (Mary) with Dr. James Warwick. The daughter
resurfaced on B&B about a decade ago and she was in her late teens.
Sheila renamed the girl "Erica" (after her sudden "love of her life",
Eric).
- Sheila had a daughter (Diana) with Massimo Marone. We only saw the
child as an infant, within the last decade. Sheila claimed the child
was Massimo's and that the child was named "Diana". I suppose these
could have been lies...that she really had a boy but pretended it was
a girl so that they'd be harder to track after their escape from the
jungle (that's where all this went down). If that's the case, I'd
predict that Ryder is the child we formerly knew as Diana.
Daisy is clearly younger than Ryder. So, if I'm right about Ryder
being a Marone (i.e., Diana), then Daisy could well be Terrible
Tom's..because they had sex.
Now...work with me here. What about Ryder's blood test, where he was
revealed to be Tom's? Well, Cane passed the DNA test because he
substituted P3's blood. And Sheila has a long history of mixing up
test results to get the DNA results she wants. So, Daisy could easily
be Kevin's REAL sister, and the source of Ryder's blood.
==
But I stil think the LONG strawberry blonde hair on Daisy is a clue
(i.e., that she is Phyllis' daughter). My working hypothesis is that
before Phyllis left town (distraught over losing Daniel, no job, no
money, Jack using her for sex) she got pregnant. While off canvas
(after Sandra Nelson was fired) I imagine that Phyllis felt unwworthy
to be a mother after what happened with Daniel. Also, with no job/man/
money, she didn't think she could do the child justice. So she gave
it away.
In that scenario, Daisy is Phyllis'. Who adopted her? And why is she
back? And how does she connect with Ryder and Lauren?
===
There is no way Ryder can be Tom and Sheila's child. SORASing is
fine, but this really just happened in 2005. They can't add 20 years
in 3 years...
So, if Ryder really is Tom's, then mom can't be Sheila. She COULD be
Lorie Brooks or Diane Jenkins or Mari Jo Mason or any other villainess
from the past. But none of those women would have murderous grudges
against Lauren and Amber like Sheila would.
===
I'm so confused.
??
Say what you want about Phyllis (most of the bad stuff is true), but
she was DEVASTATED by having Daniel taken away from her! She had been
shown NUMEROUS times in pain/hurting when experiencing that emptiness.
If she had gotten pregnant again after having Daniel taken away, IMO
there is NO WAY she would "give it away" -- NO WAY. And no matter
what, she has been dedicated to Summer, too. NO WAY she would have
given a child away.
NO.WAY!
Of course that doesn't mean THIS GROUP wouldn't write it that way.
Prior history and knowledge of a character is CLEARLY not considered
when writing new story, EVEN when they are reaching back in history to
pull something out that WE saw but THEY didn't! GRRR.

It is way, WAY too intertwined and intermingled to be compelling. Add
to that all the mistrust when it comes to DNA tests and shoddy
investigative work -- stuff that can AND HAS been undone and turned
around in the blink of an eye by just claiming that so-and-so switched
the tests or "there was a mix-up at the lab" (HOW convenient!) -- and
there's simply NO WAY to follow it or invest in it enough for it to be
compelling drama. I tell ya, it's REALLY no better than a couple of
first graders playing "pretend" and changing the story every few
minutes: "No wait... I'm not really a stripper, I'm really a decision-
making Board Member of a giant corporation, and I'm not really your ex-
wife, that was just a hysterical marriage."
Arrrrgh.
Shirl
WSS. I have to agree. PLUS, considering that, after returning to GC,
Phyllis spent some time trying to have Jack's baby -- and then trying
to save her marriage to Jack from Diane who had had his baby -- it
would seem a little odd for her to have kept the secret that she had
already had his baby. At that point, she would have hired Paul to
track down her child and recover custody, etc., etc.
> > There is no way Ryder can be Tom and Sheila's child. SORASing is

Yeah, it happened only a couple of years ago, but I think that as long
as the age of the child makes sense with the age of the parent,
SORASing is just one of those necessary evils. My big objection is to
Sheila being EVER brought back into the picture.
"No wait... I'm not really a stripper, I'm really a decision-

That quote wasn't necessarily supposed to be factual, just an example
of the last few groups of writers seem to change the scenario in much
the same, instantaneous way that kids do when playing "pretend"...with
little or no buy-able explanation.
That said, the mere passage of time doesn't equal qualifications that
hold up a story, IMO.
But, in all fairness, she *did* have at least ONE couch-top, laptop
computer lesson from Brad. That and her signed check for $35M would
probably be qualifications-enough for most corporations.
Shirl (but IMO, the "hysterical" element applies to more than just
Ashley's storyline! ... they couldn't have chosen a more appropo
label!)
Yeah, I knew you were just being hyperbolic.
> That said, the mere passage of time doesn't equal qualifications that

It doesn't. But since the only other things she had to do for 20
years was flower fluff, play piano, chat with Katherine and meddle in
her children's lives, that still left plenty of time for that to study
business off-camera. She probably even wore her studious-looking
glasses.
