Can Diva and Michael and Shirl and Jaie and Dave and Tony come out and
play, Mrs. F, Mrs. D, Mrs. R, Mrs. H, and Mrs. C? (I don't have last
initials for Jaie and Dave.) And everybody I forgot, like Terry and
Ravl? Come on out and talk about how JT and Victoria left town today,
at the very least.

I slept through the entire episode today. This is an all time first. I
opened and eye from time to time to catch Lily with her head scarf off
and lots of eye makeup and saw Adam at Sharon's place again. I figured
someone must have used hairspray on yesterday's episode as there
wasn't much happening besides a lot of jawing.

Usually when someone leaves a soap (either for awhile or for good),
they use a closing elevator door, a fading lantern on the side of a lake,
or some other poetic departure mode...hey, an airport line will work.
Heinle was getting pretty big; even that humungous satchel she kept
hauling around in front of her wasn't hiding much anymore. She must be
near her due date. I don't know where JT and Vicky are on the negotiation
schedule but that could determine how much hardball TPTB will play come
time for their return.

No real goodbye -- no slowmo even? I hope that means it's temporary.

Four people leaving at the same time? And why are none of them taking
the corporate jet?

We lose Victoria and J.T. and get to keep Deacon and Amber? How the
hell is that a fair trade?

On the plus side, Sharon can take back her house now. She and Adam
should be very cozy there and, while I despise much of what Adam's
done, I'd really enjoy watching Nick squirming as they romp around
together. So does anyone think Adam is genuinely interested in
Sharon, even a little bit, or is it solely about hurting Nick. I'm
liking them together so far.

Victor and Nikki may have used the corporate jet as it didn't show them
leaving. It was evident that JT and Vicky went commercial.

Sharon was collateral damage in Adam's repair job of Ashley's baby
fiasco but, now that's he starting to get to know her, I think he's
starting to feel like he did a great wrong but can't fix it without
incriminating himself. It's too early to tell if he will pursue a genuine
relationship or one just to 'stick it to Nick'.

How long do folks down there in the US get for maternity leave?? Up here
it's 1 year (and it can be split up among the mother and the father if I'm
not mistaken). The company does not have to keep the "exact" position for
one while they are on maternity leave (but they must ensure "a" position is
open for you upon return). Not sure how the law works down there (somehow I
doubt that folks get 1 year off).

My guess is that JT will return first in a few months...and then Victoria
after that.

Adam might have seen the baby switch (which wasn't actually a switch
so much as sleight of hand) as the lesser of two dangers for him. He
risked getting caught during the switch, but once the switch was made,
he was pretty much off the hook. He also didn't count on getting to
know Sharon well enough to feel guilty about it, or at least guilty
enough to be remorseful about it. I doubt he's going to go so far as
to 'fess up, b/c that doesn't seem to be his style, but I'm willing to
bet we'll see a lot of agaonizing until he gets caught - I just hope
he gets caught soon.

He made a mistake, for instance, with "Baby Newman" on the cremated
remains urn. It would have said "Baby Abbott," as Sharon was still
married to Jack at the time, IIRC. Also, if Dr. Taylor turns up with,
say, terminal hallitosis or something, he may rat Adam out.

My stepdaughter (6th year associate at a big Manhattan law firm) got 6
months off, but since she had twins, she took a year. No kidding! And
the law firm went for it. She now teaches 1 class at her old law
school and telecommutes for her law firm, traveling into the city for
the occasional client conferences or court appearance. The twins
(boys) are now 2 and I think she looks at trips to the city for work
as vacations.

Cito had a bad habit of leaving his pitchers in faaaar too long. Admitedly,
I haven't watched a Jays game in years (though I was a diehard from '85 to
'93).

Well, Ballsillie was never going to get them. He pissed off the NHL bigtime
when he tried buying the Nashville Preditors a few years back and started
selling season tickets before anything was ok'd (not the brightest move).

Ahhhh....I disagree. Toronto could easily support 2 NHL teams within the
city limits alone (nevermind Hamilton). If NY can have the Rangers,
Islanders, and NJ Devils within a few miles of each other....no reason why
Hamilton can't have a team. Yet, for some reason, Bettman seems to think
hockey can work in places like Phoenix, Florida, and Nashville. I hate Gary
Bettman with a passion (he's a little weasel who reminds me of The Count

Thanks bj. I am done with him. Is that bastard on vacation? I haven't
seen him in a couple of days and it's been watchable.

No doubt the market is big enough for a second team. However, The Leafs
would never allow it (though I've heard they may not have veto power against
it). I do think Canada will get another team eventually (there's been some
lobbying lately for Quebec City to get one back). However, for the moment
it's all spin.

> The Pan Am Games will put TO into a black hole financially though.

LOL...I had to laugh (and cringe) when I heard we were given Pan Am. I'll
be honest, I was happy we lost the bid for the Olympics a few years back.
It's usually a losing proposition and the city would simply turn into a
madhouse (who needs that!!).

You should vote Mel Lastman back in (I laughed my ass off when he called in
The Army for snow removal 10 years ago and then he took out a full-page ad
in The Sun pleading with Ginger Spice to return to the Spice Girls).

I've always liked the character of Devon when he isn't acting
sanctimonious. The, erm, tryst with Tyra was pretty gag inducing, but
I liked the scenes he had with Cannot Remember The Girlfriend's Name
when he begged for forgiveness.

Mac, however, I cannot warm up to either the character (as played) or
the actress (as is). Too wooden. Too solemn. Too goody-goody.
Whatinhell does Billy see in this eternal downer of a person? And,
yes, Billy needs someone who can ground him and give him some
perspective, maybe a clue about boundaries, but Mac isn't exactly
someone you'd invite to karaoke or beach volleyball. Mac I'd invite to
a League of Women Voters lecture or Greenpeace rally.

That would be Roxanne.

Many of my closest friends are goody-goody do-gooder types and NONE of
them is as boring as this Mac. I had to laugh today when she was
talking about how Cane and Lily were "SO kind" to her when she
returned from Darfur. What the hell is she talking about? They were
nice and civil, but there was nothing out of the ordinary about it.
Mac is the one who had been so kind to them. Whatever.

I wouldn't invite this Mac to any of the above.

Whereabouts?? I grew up in Clarkson/Lorne Park but I'm now in Port Credit.

Yup (kinda like Olympic Stadium in Montreal....look out above!!). Every so
often we hear about the supposed plan to develop a new "Gardiner"
underground....but they've been saying that for years and years.

I lived near Bloor and Dixie (by Applewood Park) and went to Applewood

I believe our football teams were rivals - and maybe still are.

I know it well. I used to drive up Dixie from Lakeshore to north of the 401
for work each day for years (till we merged and moved...now I'm up
Hurontario just north of the 401).

Heh!! Applewood!! Small world.

> I believe our football teams were rivals - and maybe still are.

Yeah...I went to Lorne Park. The football crowd was a bunch of preps and
jocks (you know...the so called "cool" people). I was more the
rocker/stoner. Our football team did kick ass though (usually ending up at
CNE Stadium for the finals).

I used to work for a chemical company that was owned by Alkaril
Chemicals of Mississauga, and have often wondered if they are still in
business or have been sold. I made two trips up there in the 80's and
loved my visit to Toronto. :)

Cool. I'm familiar with Paradigms (but not the Studio 20s). I have Cerwin

I am not surprised.
The entire north portion of the city is industrial.
The mayor (Hazel) has been in office since the 70s and is
responsible for attracting an enormous
corporate-based municipal tax revenue.
Our property taxes did not go up for many years.
(yay Hazel)

Yup...Hazel rocks!! She's 89 yrs old and is now the eldest and longest
serving mayor in N. America if I'm not mistaken (certainly within Canada).
Mississauga was declared a city in 1974 and she's been mayor ever since.
Nobody runs against her in elections cuz they know they can't win. I've met
her a few times (she's smart as a whip and sarcastic as all hell...very very
funny woman).
