Apologies if this is or has already been discussed here, but, Simon
was Katie's first, right? So, Mike is just her second, yes? Have the
two of them ever discussed that she'd never been with anyone but
Simon?

I don't think they have discussed it. Mike, of course, has been with nearly
ever other woman in town (how he missed Emily I'll never know).

BTW - was it just me or did the shower scene turn people off? I thought the
nudity was merely gratuitous and it took away from the actual "steamy"
nature of the scene, IMO. I was remembering back to the Holden/Emily shower
scene of years ago and thinking that it was much more erotic, while leaving
both of them more or less covered.

Yep. Katie lost her virginity to Simon and Mike was her second. I don't know
if they ever discussed it. Personally, I think Mike's previous lovers (Carly,
Molly) are more of topic of discussion than Katie's. Let's hope Katie insisted
on protection. We all know Mike is prone not to use it himself.

No way. I thought the shower scene was excellent. All of these scenes
have been.

I've enjoyed the Mike/Katie scenes, but for whatever reason (maybe it's just
my mood today) this one put me off. Guess it is just me!

Don't forget Rosanna. ATWT's family relations are so incestuous you can
connect almost anyone, so Mike has now slept with Katie and her sister-
in-law!

Will Dusty try to get Lily to kill Paul? She is crazy enough to do it,
probably after he hops on her. It's a matter of time.

But then again, that was the "good" Emily, not this one. A shower scene
with a bleached blond, toothy, bag of bones wouldn't have any zip at all
as far as I'm concerned.

I loved Melanie Smith and miss her as Emily to this day. I know that Kelley
Hensley has been playing the role for so long that most people see Emily as
hers, but I've never liked KH in the part; she was never much of an actress IMO
and she's played Emily as a nasty harpy (I've disliked her most because of the
way she's treated Susan over the years) most of her time on the show until
recently when she became Hal's Stepford wife. Not only do I not buy this
'sweet' Emily, it's boring as well. Course with all the nasty things Emily has
done, I think her worst was telling Allison that she was her 'mother' because
she felt Susan wasn't cutting it. Allison's life was never the same after
that, thanks to Emily.

I liked her too, remember her dance with Rex or Tex or somebody? But the
Stewarts were mostly blond and fair I thought this Emily was beyond good
with the rape scene.

Good grief! I've never imagined that anyone could say or think that
about either Emily or about Kelly! And, yes, I know how many people
miss Melanie Smith & are still entranced with her tango with someone.
Disliking a recast is one thing, but geeze.

Anyway, I think that the more recent twist to Emily, with Hal, with
Rose & Carly, and with Susan & Alison has been very interesting! I'd
have sworn that they had Emily in a corner she could never get out of
back when she was sleeping with Paul Korver's Chris Hughes but, no,
they came out with another dimension to her to explore.

See, if someone asked me about my favorite Emily, to this day I'd say
Colleen McDermott, the first teen Emily who was the one seduced by
James. I still have nearly every scene she was ever in. She was amazing,
she had real chemistry with Anthony, she NAILED the portrayal of this
lost, slightly naive, but weary young woman. And then they brought in
Melanie who was harsh in every sense. She was much older, her face
looked harsher, and the emotional shell was incredibly tough. It was
hard to adjust to in many ways and she'll never be "my Emily" or the
real one, but she made an impression over time.

And yet, I really like Kelley, probably because I LOVED her and Royce, I
just adored her in that story. That was NO easy story and working with
Terry ain't easy (any quotes from her on his death BTW?) without looking
like a putz and she was brand spanking new to the show at that point. I
thought she brought a vulnerability to Emily that Melanie kept buried
FAR too deep IMO. She also did EXCELLENT work during the rape story and
she _crackled_ with Scott Bryce and you know, again, that's NOT easy,
especially since Smith and Bryce's rapport was one of the few things I
really dug about her.

When Emily became a shrill pill on the other hand, things changed and it
took a LOT of work to get her back to respectability and I think people
are stuck on that (they blame Tom/Scott Holmes for this as well and
Dolan suffers more after her triple whammy of the PTSD/Eddie/Alec
stories) and they wish for the days of yore when Melanie had stronger
stories. But there ain't nothing wrong with Kelley IMO and I'm sticking
with that.

Yes, she made a statement about it immediately, in the first press
about it.

I loved her with Royce & in that storyline, too. Maybe that's a
necessary part of going with her as Emily at least part of the time.

Brock Lombard the mobster, played by Greg Beecroft. I loved that character
with Ellie Snyder, ended up watching GH for a couple of months simply
because they cast him immediately after he left GH. He did a tango there
too, with Finola Hughes (Anna; he was playing a recast Duke Lavery). This
was when Robin was just a tiny girl, right around the time of Casey the
Alien.
