I don't know how to read a pregnancy test, but at the end of the Thursday Canadian show, I thought I saw a "+"(positive).
I am assuming Adam is the father :)
Can a baby bring Chelsea back to Adam ?

How much do ya wanna bet Adam and Sharon make a "Snow-Storm baby" ?
Seriously, after all these years, it boggles my mind that Adam hasn't gotten Sharon pregnant.

Maybe even Avery and Mac will make a snow storm baby. Or Carmine and
Lauren?

And...as someone recently said, they should just keep a whole stock of
pregnancy tests in their closets, they certainly don't keep the birth
control there.

Yes, I know...so why the horrified face today? It's not like women and men
aren't raising kids by themselves these days, and it's not like they're
wondering where their next Luv's or crib will come from. If you don't want a
baby, use birth control, if you don't use birth control don't bore everyone
with the mama drama. :-)

I think she just wants to be done with Adam. A baby would tie her to him,
even though they are no longer together. Plus, she knows Adam can be
manipulative, just like his father. I understand the horrified expression
on Chelsea's face.

Chelsea certainly is fertile.

I don't think she wants to be done with him at all, but we'll see. Hey, it's
not like she hasn't already turned over one child to the father, so she
could always turn this one over to Adam. I'm really tired of all these
"unexpected" pregnancies.

I agree that she did a huge turn around in a short time, but the way he
treated her when she lost the baby, running to Sharon at every turn...I
would have kicked his sorry butt out too, but what I find ridiculous is at
the time, she said she didn't want anything monetary from him. That didn't
ring true for a con artist at all. Lots and lots of inconsistencies,
including the Lily is a high powered exec now story. Truly ludicrous.

Well, the Winters stick together, and nepotism is the word of the day, so no surprise that Mr. Look-Down-his-Nose has hired the whole family.
I could understand this with the Abbots - it was a family business, but the Winter Clan running the show is absurd.

Though she did turn down Victor's $10 million to leave town
previously...I remember at the time thinking "take the money!" ;-)

Maybe I'm misremembering, but wasn't the accident that caused
Chelsea's miscarriage also supposed to have left her unable to
have other children?

I thought that was one of the reasons that she and Adam were so
upset after the accident and finally called it quits since they
couldn't have a family together.

Or maybe I'm just thinking of all of the other women on the
show (Phyllis, for example) who've been told they can't have
kids to all of a sudden show up preggers.

the cancer and hysterectomy

IIRC Devon got a Bachelors degree in music AND business.
He was a business major and decided his real love was music,
so convinced Neil to let him do both. It isn't much, but
it's something, plus when he "ran" his music business.

But I agree. No company would allow the massive hiring of
relatives unless it was a family business. Add in the lack
of training and experience for all of these new hires, and
you've got a discrimination suit just waiting for any employees
left out in the cold who *should* have been considered.

Why Jack lets him get away with it is another rant.

Nyssa, who doesn't have any relatives, high-powered or otherwise
who could get her a job like that

The way I see Chelsea: she wants to move on from somebody (Adam) who can
continue to hurt her. She might as well revert to her old ways of
manipulation by conning. Her decision to get her start-up money by
wringing Adam for a big settlement is an illustrative example.

If she really wanted to move on from him, would she have been so upset at
Sharon being there? I don't think so.

CBS has two story lines on two different soaps, where the mother doesn't tell the father, that she is pregnant.
Who holds this kind of news back, unless she thinking about having an abortion and preferring not to have a lifelong tie with the father? And this is not the case with Steffi or Chelsea.

+1! You describe today's real-life "climate" perfectly -- zero responsibility OR accountability for one's own actions. Hey, college kids can't AFFORD birth control ... that's the government's (translation: taxpayers') responsibility! I *do* remember the days on soaps when an unplanned pregnancy was a BIG story with lots of intense drama. Remember Snapper and Sally's baby when he was in love with Chris? HUGE story! And Ashley's pregnancy by Victor and abortion when he'd married Nikki. That's when the stories were riveting. Or ... were we just easier to please then? :)

I very much agree that an unplanned pregnancy used to be huge, now it's an
everyday occurrence. Yes Shirl, those were the days.

Although I really do like the people playing these two characters, I think
we are meant not to like them, to not like what they do and the decisions
they make.
