The former actor who played Adam would have been far better suited
for this story with Sharon. This Adam is just not that attractive.

But he looks a lot more like his "mother" than old Adam.

I like them both, but I wish Chris Engen hadn't left. Better still, I
wish the "writers" could have taken their heads out of their asses and
written good story so he didn't have to leave. No matter who plays
him, Adam is one severely compromised character.

I agree, they've been quite careless with Adam's whole basic
identity and the ultimate direction of his character.

AMEN! +5! Even if they turned the character around and utilized the
story potential that they SHOULD have in the first place, NOW he has
this ridiculously evil past that will always undermine it. What a
waste!

Thinking the plane was going down for good, Adam scribbled Sharon a
note saying "Your baby is alive." I hope they'll make something of it,
but they are SO not to be trusted. They'll probably survive, or
we'd've heard about it by now, and he'll try and convince her that she
imagined it, and she'll go along with it, and we'll be supposed to go
along with it, but really, all that will happen is I'll think they're
even stupider today than they were yesterday. I really hope they do
something with this revelation that advances *something* real in
Adam's story.

I've found Chris Engen to be quite 'young' for Adam, which was fine
when he first appeared on the scene and okay for his scenes with
Heather, who is also very young but now, with Sharon, he would seem like
he would be robbing the grave as Sharon would be quite older than he would
be. Michael Muhney looks closer to Sharon's age than Engen.

It's not the actor so much. It's the character. I really don't care for
either though. The character's machinations are ridiculous. I hope he
dies in the plane wreck. Nick walked out of one so I'm not holding out
much hope.

LOL! Nothing left to say, but I have to ask ... Adam has been courting
Sharon all of 2 or 3 weeks, right? What in the world is wrong with
her??? Even if she didn't know everything she does about him, isn't
that just a little absurd that she would MARRY him? I didn't remember
her as being this stupid. <sigh>

Then there's Jack! WTHeck happened to him? Why on earth is he
proposing to this pathetic psychiatrist, he's known maybe a month? Am
I just too old, to understand all this *fast* coupling on the show now? ;)

I hope Adam starts seeing the psychiatrist to handle what he did to
Sharon, and then they fall madly in love and run away together, never to
be seen again. I know it will never happen, but it's nice to think
about. :)

No, is has nothing to do with being "too old"!

IMO, the TPTB happened to him and TPTB are what is wrong with her!
You're absolutely right -- Sharon had some huge flaws, but she
*wasn't* **THIS stupid** and I remember her being the voice of reason
on more than one important occasion. That's what made it compelling
when she would make a bad decision that you *knew* was going to end up
hurting her and her loved ones.

Now, it's just *easier* to write them stupid -- takes far less time,
energy and thought to just make them stupid than to give them a degree
of intelligence but give them flaws! The latter requires some time,
energy, thought and planning that they obviously just aren't willing
to do.

It amazes me. Even with pay cuts, they make far, FAR too much money in
exchange for what they're offering!

Again, i agree. I don't get this lightening fast coupling. I guess
they don't want to wait to let things develop. They see a storyline in
sight and just write it fast without letting it play out for months
and months.

I could see sharon doing this though. To me it's too fast. But she
thinks she loves adam. And she wants to get back at nick.

I wonder if the writers realize that they are making these characters
seem stupid. I doubt it. But i agree. I wish they would plan these
things out and take their time. Although, if they know people dislike
jack/emily (i do) then maybe they just want to rush through to the
interesting parts!

This was the big flaw in her "who's the daddy" arc between Billy, Jack
and Nick. Tossing Billy into the mix just made her look like a tramp,
not nuts, which is what TPTB seemed to be going for at the time.

Give the posters on this ng a week to write a good storyline, and I'll
