At the end of Monday's US show, Adam and Sharon's jet is crashing and,
in a move sheer desperation at the thought he and Sharon might perish,
Adam writes a 'confession' note and draws Sharon's attention to it. The
note reads: Your Baby Is Alive.

There you have it. Adam has confessed. But will it stick?

There are several scenarios that could unfold: Sharon may have been too
panicked and did not read the note, and if they land safely or survive
the crash, could ask Adam what the note said, to which Adam can reply: It
said 'I'll always love you'.; Sharon may have read the note but, in her
terror, didn't register what the note said but her subconscious did and it
will resurface at the some point in the future (ie... the seed has been
planted); Sharon may be injured and in a coma and, upon awakwening, not
immediately recall the note but her subconscious will, later on down the
road; Sharon might not have read the note but it exists in the wreckage,
to be found by salvagers who bring the note to Nick's or Victor's
attention, unless Adam retrieves it first.

I can't see them killing Adam off but, if Sharon recalls the note and
questions Adam, and Adam responds with: Ashley's Faith is actually your
Faith, then it's the end of Adam within that family and the soap, in
general. He would face many years of prison, be disowned permanently by
Victor, have Nick gunning for him, have Jack gunning for him, have Ashley
reduced to a basket case again, have Sharon suing for annulment. To that
end, Adam would have to die in the crash. Does anyone know if the
character of Adam is at an end with the show?

I hope Adam is not killed, as I wanted to see the fun that Nick and
Jack will have, with the news that Adam and Sharon are now married and,
especially, if Sharon gets pregnant. I'm hoping the note will have been
burned up in the crash, that Sharon didn't have a chance to read it, and
that this whole scenario was just another 'teaser' for the viewers, who
wonder when Adam's downfall will finally come.

Thoughts welcome?

I have no idea what will happen. But geez, how many times can the
Newman jet crash? You'd think for all the money they pay for it that
it would not crash so often.

I sort of suspected that adam would confess. I'm hoping that it
doesn't stick. Because i'd like to see this new marriage played out.

What i don't want to see is sharon pressing about the note, adam
confessing, and then nick searching through the plane rubble for
sharon.

I could see them going in the direction of reuniting nick and sharon
now.

I had already had enough with the back and forth (nick wanted phyllis,
then sharon...). I thought we were done with that.

Hopefully nick will not go sharon crazy. And hopefully we can see
sharon/adam play out for a while.

It would seem ridiculous for the writers to end this story only a
couple of months after it began. But who knows.

Dumb move by Adam. That's the type of stuff one would take to his/her
grave. I'm not sure how they (TPTB) are going to dig themselves out of this
mess and still keep Adam's character viable.

I was more intrigued by the woman sitting in the diner.

Huh? I seriously doubt it's the SAME jet repeatedly crashing! You
don't REALLY think bizillionnaire Victor Newman would *repair* a jet,
do you? He'd just buy a new one.

Maybe they need to hire more competent/qualified pilots, but what's
"all the money they pay for it" have to do with crashing?

The person(s) making the decisions and operating the controls are
human, and Mother Nature (weather) and humans, combined, require
decision-making that isn't always sound. Has very little to do with
"money" or craftsmanship of the jet itself. Percentage-wise, not that
many crashes are the result of poor craftsmanship. Mechanical failure
accounts for some, but there again, mechanical failure is frequently
traced to human oversight -- aircraft mechanics are also human.

This is the second jet to crash. The one Nick was in was destroyed and
Neil, luckily, sold the other before he went down in it. This could be an
underpinning for an insidious plot by an enemy of the Newmans wanting to
destroy them. Nick, Adam, Victoria and Victor are all now in the
crosshairs of some person or organization wanting to do in the Newmans.
Could Tucker have something to do with it?

Something is definitely up with that Tucker dude, though. Big-time players
don't suddenly appear in GC without some sort of agenda. I'm interested to

Yeah, I kinda like him too. My guess is that when TPTB initially hired him
they thought EB/Victor wasn't coming back. Then, after EB re-signed, they
likely decided to take the Tucker character in a different direction and
perhaps thought a different actor could achieve a better result (though that
is simply my guess on things). If they play things right (which TPTB seem
to drop the ball a lot lately)...they could turn this into a very
interesting storyline lining up Jack and Victor with each other to take on
Tucker once his agenda is known (and I'm certain he does have an agenda).

Terry, it's gonna get worse after watching Monday's show. Sharon is bad
enough a wussy on her own. She's pathetic. This Adam just is gone.
Nothing redeemable there for me. I can't stand looking at him anymore.
The character is so unlikeable. I don't even like to watch this. I hope
they both die. Neither of them are likeable anymore. They remind me of
oatmeal (filler crap).

God only knows. That Christmas ep was actually ok. It was nice seeing
Nikki not bloated, Danny and Pristine, Cassie, TGVN getting out of jail
and seeing his family, etc.

That wedding scene with Adam and Sharon made me want to whip out
something. It was extremely barf worthy.

AFAICS, TPTB are trying to "instant up" family relations in order to
jump start a character's bona fides. IOW, it is way, way too much
work to bring a character along from scratch. The "new" character
needs GC cred - I mean, look at the retrofit they appear to be doing
with Daisy and Ryder. And didn't Gloria and Kevin get bootstrapped
into the GC scene pretty much the same way?

Tonybone, it took me awhile to get my DVR down. It rocks dude!

I only have basic cable. I watch, COPS, AMW, This Old House Classics,
Survivor, Desperate Housewives. Ya gotta have cable to get TV now unless
you spend money on a new damn TV.

Actually, Nick's part in his hair has migrated several times from a
center part to a side part all in the same day. So while Sharon is in
crisis, Nick is in men's rooms at airports and hospitals doing comb-
outs?

Doesn't anyone check continuity?

I like Adam. Not *like* like, but I watch when he's on, and that's
been true with both actors. I've always liked Sharon. BITD she was the
only character I could relate to *at all* on this show about psycho-
and sociopaths, narcissists, and BPDites.

I always liked Nick and Sharon despite their propensity for turning
outside their marriage in times of trouble. They were two
fundamentally good people/good parents with enough flawed thinking to
make them interesting soap characters while still maintaining enough
credibility to care about them. What I hate, now, is how TPTB have
*destroyed* both of them. There's a difference between flawed thinking
and just plain repetitively stupid behavior! Bad decision-making may
indeed drive soap opera stories, but with their repetitive
ridiculously stupid behavior over the last year+, how could anyone
still relate to or care about them anymore? And that now holds true
for the majority of characters, thanks to the lack of thought and
effort that has been put into storytelling - zero believable
motivation, zero believable logic, zero brains, zero identifiable
emotions.

There isn't ONE character I c/would "always root for, no matter what
happens". In fact, IMO, such a statement just gives TPTB a free pass
to write whatever sloppy, lazy, poorly written garbage they want with
your vow to watch no matter what! How can you be completely disgusted
with Sharon yet continue to root for Phyllis even though her actions
and story have been no less pathetic than Sharon's?

Great points noted Shirl. I would just like to see one happy couple a
bit more. I love Kay and Murph. Don't care for Jack and what's her face.
Hate Adam and Sharon. Love Billy, don't care for this Mac. Vicki and JT
are not happy. Phyl and Nick? Too many issues there with Nick and
Sharon. Asshley is leaving Vic. I suppose Lauren and Mikey are good as
are Kevin and Jana. It's so depressing to watch anymore. It's slutty
like Jerry Springer. UGH I don't want to watch that. Gimme something to

I think I feel the same about Ashley as you do about Phyllis. IMO,
Ashley has been a despicable person for a LONG time -- an uppity/
snooty, arrogant person, a consummate narcissist, and a self-righteous
bi*ch who steamrolls over anyone and everyone to fulfill her own

I quoted you accurately above, then re-stated it differently. IMO, if
you're going to root for a character "no matter what", that implies
that you're watching, doesn't it?

IMO, when a viewer vows to root for any character "no matter what",
that's no different than telling TPTB that they could write whatever
ill-conceived, senseless, evil or unbelievable story they want about
that character and you'd still root for them. Would you have been able
to root for Adam throughout the entire gaslight/baby switch story ("no
matter what")? or to root for Patty when she poisoned Zapatto ("no
matter what")?

You're right -- it is what it is, as people love to say these days --
I just don't see wisdom in giving TPTB an endorsement that is THAT
broad! What we're seeing lately *is* the result of TPTB having no
competency standards or accountability. These stories obviously DO
come from the mindset that all viewers watch with your attitude that
they can present whatever sloppy work they want for our favorite
characters and we're still going to cheer. I don't see ANY advantage
of a teacher who gives a favorite student an "A" no matter what, or
any customer who continues to buy a product regardless of how inferior
or ineffective it becomes, either.

To each, his/her own, of course.
I remember the story about Elvis releasing a recording under a
different name just to prove to himself that his fans actually
recognized quality and talent and that they weren't just robots that
would buy ANYTHING he put his name on.

I never heard this about Elvis but Paul McCartney did this.

He was told that the only reason he sold records was because he was
Paul McCartney and for no other reason. So he and Linda (this was in the
late 80s) released a single called 'Seaside Woman' (with the flipside
called 'B side to Seaside' - cute) under the name 'Susie and The Red
Stripes'.

Only a few copies were sold and now Beatles afficionades are seeking
copies which are pretty rare.

Don't worry about Emily. She's toast as soon as Patty discovers her
doctor is stealing her 'husband'. I can see Patty, now, using those
really sharp scissors that the hospital allowed this mentally unstable
woman to have (to make angels out of cardboard) to stab Emily to death,
wrap her up in a blanket with just her face showing so that it looks like
Patty is sleeping and then Patty escaping, dying her hair and trying to
take over Emily's life with Jack.

I can see all this happening on Jack and Emily's wedding day so that
Jack will actually marry patty before the hospital discovers Emily's dead
body. Jack will have left on his honeymoon with 'Emily' and make the
horrible discovery when he is about to bed 'his new wife'. Should be fun
to look forward to.

I feel the same way you do about Phyllis. Although i didn't always

But i have loved her for a very long time.

Just out of curiosity, I looked it up. MS was born in 1965 and JM was
born in 1974 (according to IMDb), which confirms what I figured all
along. And it's not the age difference. I mean, who cares anymore
whether a guy is older or younger? She just seems far more
sophisticated and edgy. She also comes across as somewhat, uh,
predatory, always lookin' for someone to pounce on over whatever real
or imagined slight or instance. Nick's character is just way more
laid back, needs to be out on a snowmobile with Noah, hanging out at
Jimmy's, maybe running the ranch as a "gentleman rancher" kinda thing.
Nick always looks like he's "playing office" when he's at Newman

Phyllis and Nick are also on my Do Not Watch list, mainly because of
Phyllis. I can easily relate to Nick's reaction to Sharon and Adam's
marriage.
