On OLTL, they have now TWICE had Blair (Cassie De Paiva) referencing Mia
Korf as the original Blair. First it was at Asa's funeral, when they
showed Mia as Asa's wife, and they cut to Cassie looking puzzled. They
also referenced it again more recently.
The 40th anniversary episodes of AMC were clearly intended as an
infomercial for new viewers. Why confuse them with recasts and originals
in one show.

I never understand why soaps tend to be so coy about recasts. We won't
be confused by seeing previous incarnations. Really.

Not a regular viewer, but I *do* remember seeing the clip of Korf at
Asa'a funeral. I was surprised, because that was one jarring recast!
I'm glad they showed that, though.

I have to agree that it felt designed for new viewers. I'm not a
regular viewer, so I liked the format of the show and learned tidbits
that I didn't know, like Tad being adopted. That added something for
me. But as a 40+ year fan of GL and ATWT (and seeing many anniversary
episodes for those two shows), I totally understand how disappointed
AMC fans must be.

Also on OLTL, the last time Vickie got married, she showed photos of her
previous
husbands to another character. Clint is a recast, but instead of showing
his photo,
she showed a picture of the original Clint, played by the late Clint
Ritchie. It was
a sweet tribute and one that long-time fans much appreciated.
