Thank you, Robert. I know you do, and funny art is genuinely difficult
to find. I've begun hanging with all the young artists who will be
selling their stuff at DragonCon (a wonderful group of kids), but,
natch, they are very serious about their work. My art, otoh, is meant
to be laughed at, and unlike those nice kids, I'm not trying to make a
living. So, yeah, I take their stuff in the manner in which it is
intended. But it's nice (and rare) when some artist will lighten up.
Jean
I'm going to have to go with the crowd and nominate "Nightmads" as my
favorite, but I loved them all. The great thing about "Degalala" is
that it's not at all out of character.
Of the (apparently) older paintings, "Starry Nanites" is supremely
funny, and I love "Crowcasso." I'm not an art expert, but I know enough
to get basically all of the jokes. (With a little thanks to that art
history survey course I took in college.)
These paintings are more proof that MST3K has the best fans in the
world.

Well, we know how much Tom liked to dress up. It was a challenge trying to
contort a stumpy robot into a lithe and flexible ballet dancer, and I'm
still not sure how successful I was at it. But, I hope the spirit of the
thing came through.

That's the one that started the whole thing. About a year and a half ago,
I was looking through some magazine that had Starry Nights, and I riffed it
into 'Starry Nanites'. It was like, whoosh, the whole project just lit up
my head. Kinda like the idea for One Act Plays; you see your future.

That is what is so charming about msties; they gotta know a little bit
about almost everything, including art and literature, to get the
intelligent riffs on the show. Which means exposure to the original
artwork I'm using, or it wouldn't be funny. I've never doubted that y'all
would 'get it', and am heartily thrilled with this ng.

Oh, yes. There are some fine renderings of nubile young ladies in fantasy
mode. There are at least two artists who specialize in them, and are quite
popular. The DragonCon poobahs have an ordinance against anything X-rated, but

I've adapted a few of these to 1152x864 bmp wallpapers for my desktop. If
anyone has the same size desktop and is interested in a wallpaper-size
joelsseau, magreetings or nightmads, let me know and I'll see that you
somehow get it.
Thanks again, Jean! :-)

You mean there are people who *don't* have one as their desktop image?

Well. Apparently, Jean has "Nooooooo"ed herself right out of existence. It's
sad, yes, but fear not - her paintings are in good hands! According to Jean's
Last Will And Testament, which I coincidentally found written on the back of
the receipt from when I had my oil changed, and which is definitely not in my
handwriting at all, not even how it would look if I wrote it left-handed, no
sirree!, she left all her paintings to me.

I know it's what I - uh, she would have wanted.
Yeah, really! I've been living with Sunday In The Park With Frank since the
day I set eyes on it, and fell in love with it. (Okay, it was replaced with
a certain LotR elf for a while, but he's back)

Well, she's a delightful confection, no doubt about that.

Hi Bill!
Greetings from Purgatory! Boy, it's not at all like I thought it would be, nope. Well,
sure, we got our purification rituals and lots of bitter herbs, but it's amazing what you
can do with a little sackcloth and ashes. I mean, we got some great couture going on
here! Plus, we got lots of work to do. We gotta assemble, like billions of sin-proof
armor for all those guardian angels, but fortunately we got lots of domes and plastic
bowling pins. It's those metal barrel banks that seem to go missing all the time. I
think Satan sneaks in here late at night and has a little fun with us. Obnoxious
bastard.
Oh, and we had fun with Mr. Agar and Mr. Urich. Mr. Agar provided us with lots of rope,
and was very gracious about it. I'm not sure why we need rope, but I've no doubt it will
come in handy as Mr. Agar seemed inordinately fond of all those spools, clear to the
horizon. He also told us funny Hollywood stories, like that time John Wayne rolled up
Susan Hayward in a bale of chain mail. Ha ha, those were the days. And Mr. Urich had to
go around telling jokes and hugging everyone, and gave us a really cute shadow-puppet
show after dinner. Then, *woosh*, just like that, they were both sucked right up into
Heaven.
Well, gotta go now. We're working on a msting of Satan's pubescent worries like when his
voice started changing and even minor demons felt bold enough to give him wedgies down on
the fifth level. Man, the thing almost writes itself.
Oh, btw, there was a typo. The will said, "I leave Bill all my *gratings'*. I know how
much you love cheese.

He was very whimsical, yeah, which is why I like his stuff. And, it was very
popular a few decades ago. Kinda sad, though, that no one remembers him
anymore.
