The question is: Why?
a. To mislead readers of this newsgroup into believing the show didn't
get raves?
b. To discourage us from buying a ticket to this widely-lauded show?
c. Because he hopes old favorites of his (No No Nanette, Let It Ride,
Pipe Dream) will be revived more often if they don't have 21st Century
musicals to compete with?
d. Out of jealousy that newcomers succeed while he continues to
languish in stock?
e. General contempt for us, our taste, our intelligence?
I'm hoping everybody will ignore the malicious pull-quoting, see the
show, and give an original reaction, based upon entertainment actually
experienced

Hmmm. They just did NANETTE again. You basically enjoyed it. I've done
it twice, and enjoyed the original revival as well as the Kaye Ballard
Paper Mill version. LET IT RIDE! is not a favorite-- and as you know I'd
want to see that (unfunny) animal cruelty song (you like so much) cut.
With the success of their straightforward revival of SOUTH PACIFIC,
perhaps the R & H organization (and Sher and his dream team) will get
around to PIPE DREAM. Like SOUTH PACIFIC (and LET IT RIDE!) it would be
its first Tony-eigible revival.

Noel Katz, we've been through this crap so many times before.
Ironically, you're the one who sounds so bitter, humourless, and
unfulfilled that hardly anyone ever responds to you anymore-- even after
you've changed your screen name to protect the guilty. (Did you get
turned down once as a pianist for a stock season or something?)
Several newcomers who scored with the critics in LITTLE MERMAID and
CRY-BABY and got other noms this season, were passed over in the Tony
noms.
