all of those make me think, "Hey, that's nice. Where would I put the
rest of them?"

But those are usually only one room or one wall or something;
presumably the rest of those houses have more storage space, too.

And my library isn't one I think of as large, not by comparison with
those of book-loving friends. There are a couple of setups in that
gallery that could probably handle most of my books and comics, at
least after the culling we did a few years back.

There are several of those which look impossible. The ones with large
staircases mean that to reach the high shelves above the lower steps,
you'd have to balance a tall ladder _on_ the steps. Recipe for disaster.

One of them has books inaccessible behind risers and treads and the one
with the alternate foot ladder built in as shelves looks dizzyingly
dangerous.

I love the last one, though, the elegant library built by an architect
for his dad.

I'd like an old fashioned looking library with proper library steps on
easy-glide rollers. Yeah. Gimme!

I have already alerted all my family about what I want^H^H^H^H need for
Christmas. Unfortunately, I would still need to add a second storey to
my house, so maybe I should stick to Plan A: buy the town library and
build a house round it.
