Maybe someone HERE can scratch my itch for me?
I saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie the other day. Holmes as action
hero and Watson, too? It was great fun, as it turned out, and the
London in the movie could have come straight out of Dickens.
BUT as a fan of Irish folk music who has a chunk of it including the
Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem singing "Rocky Road to Dublin" I want
to know why NOWHERE is there the faintest mention of who is singing it
during a fight scene in the movie. They list assorted "boys" and a
bookful of assistant this and that persons, and there is a claim that a
guy named Room(OK, Zimmer) wrote the entire score. He did NOT write
that song. It's an actual 19th-century Irish song and some others
besides my favorites have recorded it. But who sings it in the movie
and why is it missing from the credits?

According to Wikipedia, it's The Dubliners.

Why it's not listed in the credits, I don't know.

It's already been identified -- but I have to point out that it was, indeed,
in the credits. I was curious about the song, and looked for it in the
credits. When I saw a credit for "The Dubliners," I was pretty sure that was
the song.
The idea of a music credit not being in the credits is mind boggling.
Professional assassins would be sent out to correct any such
egregious error.

Someone told me elsewhere 8-) But I went through a long list of credits
at least twice and couldn't find them.
Same here. It listed the song's title too.
Less well-known famous music credit: I saw "Aleksey Igudesman" listed
as a musician. As in <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xui7x_KF7bY>.

There's an article about it here:

Terry's right about credits. There would be a *major* kerfuffle if
they failed to credit the Dublineers. I think the only circumstance
where that might not happen is if the band was so upset with how it
was used that they withdrew their credit so as not to associate
themselves with the use.

I thought imdb's credits list would include it and it didn't. I guess
wiki has stuff right now and then after all, since I'm told that's where
the Dubliners are listed. For me, it's just a place to find links to
sources I might trust.
