The situation has evolved dramatically since the first post was made,
whether you who read this have been aware of the changes is mostly
irrelevant LOL.
I am also evolving as I discard old grudges and I am much better for
making THE EFFORTS!
-----------------------------------
I removed from the desk which I use the printer, the speakers, and
assorted things which were cluttering the surface. I will only listen
to what I recall while remembering things for a while because I am
unwilling to be programmed by any side in what is obviously a
longstanding meme war....
-----------------------------------
I think that by now everyone realizes that I am unsatisfied regardless
of what heights I am able to scale. I hereby declare and resolve that
henceforth I shall be more appreciative of feedback whether of positive
or negative nature. What I find unsettling is the lack of exchange of
mutual opinions. So I ask those who may read this to pass the word
along that I would appreciate more socialization now. Isolation has
become very oppresive so I need some company.
-----------------------------------
As I wrote the previous post, I realized that the problem might be a
stupid remark which I made as tc5...@aol.com regarding : that I wanted
nobody to come into contact until America etc had been corrected as per
the suggestions which I was making. I now do solemnly declare that I was
wrong to say such a thing! So let's have a party if you think that I
deserve one! Furthermore I openly invite all who may become aware of
the existence of "Lonnie Courtney Clay" to visit that Google group
soon!
-----------------------------------
I encourage anyone who may see this to make a wish that : you will be
better regardless of how good or evil you might currently be. The
effectiveness of the technique is indisputably verified by the things
which I have personally experienced. If after trying the wish technique
you find impovements then you should pass the word along regarding
wishing really works!
-----------------------------------
I suddenly realised that at some time in the past I may have declared :
"I am looking for a really good fight". If so then I do solemnly declare
that I was erroneous to say such a thing! I am certainly now looking for
satisfying experiences and friendships!
-----------------------------------
I think that I was enlightened by the soul of
"Alpha Rex Emmanuel Humbard" who just died.
I thank AREH so very much!
Therefor I have decided that those with which I will associate are
those who promote the concepts of effectiveness efficiency superiority
productivity adaptability
maintainability and other concepts which I will mention when I have had
time to ponder the matter thoroughly.

That would defeat its purpose. You do realize, don't you, that you are
arguign with a 'bot? There's no human behind this drivel - it's morphing
From: addresses with every post (so killfile on a regex on "claylonnie"
only, since that seems to be a common part) and forget about it.

History is made at night. Character is what you are in the dark.
I learned to pun-see-tea-you-ate in the third grade, but I had no
choice of beverage either as a child or while living as an adult with
relatives later. The knowledge of the ill effects of tea was buried so
deeply that it only surfaced within the past week.....
I omitted punctuation because I deliberately wanted to be vauge at to
what I was meaning...
As I said in a notice to network administrators yesterday, the bot is
easily recognized by two characteristics. It babbles, and it does not
dare to use the signature "Lonnie Courtney Clay". Do you two really
want to have your names dissected in public ? Everything posted so far
at Cool Sci-fi by claylonnie is what I wrote rather than a bot. I am
using the role of Dartagnon from "The Three Musketeers" battling the
Cardinal's men as a humorous followup to the "finale" and "curtain
call"...
Hint for the bot's programmers: passing the Turing Test does NOT mean
grabbing the attention of every aware being within a five-group radius
with every post. "LOOKIT ME LOOKIT ME HEY LOOKIT ME" is for six-year-olds,
who aren't consistently sentient yet...

Given the number of responess this nonsense has generated, I'm wondering
how many of the *regulars* here could pass a Turing Test.
Maybe it's being graded on a curve...
-dms
We can pass a Turning Test;
we has a paper to prove it.
Futhermore we has a paper we can disapprove "it" whenever we wants to
too !!!!!

Is the the place to do the traditional s/sentient/sapient/ rant?

Well, true. But perhaps the programmers are trying to work up to it.
First, pass the test as a 6-year-old, then keep adding a few months
until you get somewhere interesting.

Perhaps you should google the term "hipcrime". This isn't him, but it's
someone very much like him, and probably sufferent from the same mental
illness.
Yes, of couse. Or, "well duh!". There are, however, some differences,
mainly that hipcrime doesn't seem to even try to have the posts in any
way track what they are following-up (if indeed they are; most often
they aren't). So *if* (as is possible) this is "like hipcrime" in the
sense of the psychopathology involved, or in the sense that a bot is
writing the drivel involved, it a noticeably different form of drivel,
at least as complex as Eliza.
Or so it seems to me, superficially. It's not like I've done an
exhaustive search through either of their output. But hey, I saw
the lonnybot make a vaguely on-topic pun, while the hipcrimebot
doesn't seem to bother to do anything similar.
I see it in at least one other group, and it's quite amusing to see
subjects and senders from here over in those places. and, of course,
those from there here.
Cheers,
Gary B-)

I don't think there's any consciousness behind this, either. It mostly
replies to itself, last I saw before kfing it.

I don't believe any replies will ever been seen by a consious being.
Correction : and probably suffering from the same mental illness.

Since at the moment two groups I read regularly are getting these
attacks, and a third one seems to have both these attacks and a
foulmouthed little jerk who (for some reason) has a vendetta against
some members of the group, I really wish I could find a way to find it
amusing...

I'm not so sure; it's made a few topical responses. Until the From
addresses started morphing, my diagnosis would have been someone off
his medications and badly in need of them; the morphing From addresses
make me suspect that there's malice in there, though there also seems
to be a need for medication.

My half-serious positive spin: I always have fewer posts to read in order to
catch up with the group than I think I do.

Might have been a matter of salting the mine before turning it over to the
'bot.
Tea is beneficial rather than ill when the desire is to combat the
effects of "it".
Vomiting is a normal response of the body purging itself of infection.
So drink more tea to get rid of "it" as soon as possible PLEASE!

Rather than being amused, you should be reporting the bot gibberish as
spam whenever it's seen. I have been struggling for over "a day" now,
finding it's posts and reporting them as spam each time. However it
seems to proliferate faster than I can report....
I suggest the following :
"This post is spam. Please delete this post including any other copies
of this post found on worldwide web. Furthermore please disable
accounts which are posting other similar spam."
The posts which I made recently were all using the cool sci-fi acount
which I have, but I intend to post from Google henceforth. The bot
fails "to sign" it's posts, so that is an easy way to recognize "it"'s
posts.....
Can't I be both amused *and* reporting?
Howdy. I'm the admin' for the gateway site that "Clay Lonnie" is
posting through. I came across this thread while looking at an issue
that was recently reported to us.
The 'morphing' address is actually the gateway software at work and not
the user doing it; it was originally designed as a way to prevent spam
bots from harvesting the addresses but as this thread has shown it then
makes it difficult to track individuals and to also plonk individuals as
well. Because of that I will be making a change shortly so that a
consistent address is returned for each user posting through our
gateway.
Sorry about that folks; if anybody else notices problems originating
from our gateway please let us know at "abuse [at] coolscifi.com" and
we'll address the issue.

The only other problem I see is that you were stupid enough to
enable a spamming troll to being with, with someone that was known
to be stupid in 1995.

Thank you.
It's nice to know that there is still one admin who actually gives
a rip about how their practices affect others.
Pay no attention to that other guy.

Well, yeah. But, as you know, it is impossible to be too obvious when
trolling a true fish.
"trolling a true fish"
Since I am a Pisces by birth date, I will take that "true" as a
compliment rather than an insult. One thing though is quite true, I
can tell one HELL of a WHALE story too!
