Asimovs Foundation series tend to have pretty cool twist endings... :o)

IMO, merely suggesting a story would be a spoiler, since surprize can
be important to a twist ending. I know of one in particular that I
don't think I should mention, because it truly blindsides you on the
last page or two.

How about _50 Great Short Short SF Stories_ (approximate title), editing
by I. Asimov (and H. Greenberg?).
It's ironic, in a way. In the Foreword, the editor(s) exclaim about
how difficult it is to do significant world-building in only a few
pages. They give the impression that the stories in this book all do
that. In actuality, there is almost no world-building in any of them;
they all rely on twist endings.
Quite enjoyable, though.

Try Zelazny's _Doorways in the Sand_ for a real twist ending.

Heh. I recently read a collection of works by authors trying to
emulate another author's style. One of the side effects is a recurring
use of _the same surprise ending_ over and over. I'm being vague here
because it won't be published for another few months, but it stopped
being horrifying and started being pretty hilarious as all these people
discover similar nasty facts about their backgrounds. Heck, there are
enough of these people according to the story that they should have
their own SIG in Washington.
>Quite enjoyable, though.
I got a short story out the collection, based on my take of that
surprise ending.
