Apart from the fact that canned chili is pretty mediocre,
that sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Perhaps you haven't seen the cans with the congealed, orangeish clot of
fat visible up near the top.

That's why you stir the can up first, to make sure the fat's well
distributed.

Yeah, it's a lot better hot, of course, but quite edible cold, if it's
edible at all.

Compared to what human beings are capable of doing, I suppose so. I
could imagine eating some things cold out of the can, but seeing this in
the flesh was disconcerting.

All the canned chili I've ever had was extremely mild. I used to keep it
around for when I was too sick or lazy to shop or cook. Needs mucho hot
sauce.
