Hey everbody, Robert Jordan died of a heart attack brought on by too much

I really don't understand why people think this is funny.

Until you see a post from _TOR_BOOKS_ that says that he's dead, closely
followed by an offer to buy a special limited edition of the books which
will only be in print for a limited period of time for the special price of
$ 199,95 / volume, consider the man alive and kickin'.

AS WILL ANYONE ELSE WHO HEARS A BOOKSTORE CLERK SAYING HE'S KICKED THE

Ironically enough, there was a "special version" of PoD with "unknown binding"
for $200.00 on amazon.com. Yikes.

Because many bookstore clerks, like many of those people who listen to
them, are gossiping morons.

Andrea? Where is your bookstore people rant? Now would be a good time
for it, I think...

Fox, or whatever the hell your name is, most bookstore people are stupid.
Plain and simple. If a bookstore clerk tells you RJ is dead, don't
believe it.

If, however, you find banner headlines at http://www.tor.com or a post
here from Teresa Nielsen Hayden or Patrick Nielsen Hayden (of TOR Books)
announcing that he's dead, you can believe those.

Chances are, we'll hear it before anyone else will.

From a *reliable*, *clueful* source.

No. Fox's bookstore clerk is almost certainly not right.

First, the man is not almost ninety, by any reasonable stretch of the
phrase. Second, for Chrissakes, if the man died it's almost certain
that something would appear at Tor's fucking web site, and that a Tor
rep (a real one) would make a grieved announcement RIGHT HERE.

Look would you walk into a the NRA and state that gun's are the devils handy
work? Not bloody likely. If your going to raise a point which is likely to
piss people take the time to validate your source of knowledge. For christ's

Hey, "Fox", there are plenty of ladies here. Idiots are in short supply,

The other day at a chain bookstore when I was picking up a Pratchett book
(Jingo) the clerk commented on the fact that she'd just shelved those
books that day. We talked a little about sci-fi and I aksed her if she
had taken up the Wheel of Time books. A paraphrase of her reply:

"I was going to but then I heard he was really sick."

When I informed her that I've read time and again about this little lie
cropping up and that it has never even been remotely true she stated that
her boyfriend who works at another book store heard it from his
management.

All it really takes is one person high enough up the mngmt chain to fall
for the lie and stuff like this will keep cropping up.

I don't follow the group to closely these days and I may have missed it,
anyone know which chain is propagating this troll?

Yeah yeah yeah.

Everybody always wants to talk to Jesus.

You get your assed nailed to a tree once...*once* a couple a thousand or
so years ago and you're automatically God's fair-haired boy...the man in
demand...the one with _all_ the answers. Yeah, as if.

Indeed the group's lovely cuddly fluffy-bunny is speaking from
experience. AOL is _not_ cuddly, fluffy, or lovely. In any way
imaginable. I believe there are particular reasons Bunnytshens
must stay with AOL. This creates a great inconvenience for any
person wishing to kill-file aol.com entire. To be fair, others
(just a few) from AOL are clueful posters, so the burden isn't
entirely on him. However, I think it would be a good thing for
Rushfan to switch to a real ISP ASAP, if only to save him some
brain-ache.

So?

Was it polite for Fox to start yet another round of "RJ is dead!" rumors?
Is it polite for you to lecture me on the niceties of language when I have
said not one word to you in the past?

So, you can just fuck off as well, ok?

>Good manners are very important.

Bullshit.

Good manners can be very important, in some circumstances. Good manners
often fail to achieve ends that rudeness will. So, fuck of, OK?

Now, I'm certainly not going to claim that you and Fox are the same person,
based on the skimpy evidence above, but it is suggestive. It is also
suggestive that I did *not* call you a lady. My response to Fox could be
construed as calling her a lady. So, why your last sentence?

Read the group for a few years.
Field this inane rumour a few thousand times.
Then you'll understand.

"When the cherry blossom starts to bloom
meet me here, in my lonely room.
We'll find a passion-filled fantasy,
and this time you will stay with me.
All the misery we knew before
Stays away, when you are at my door.
My heart will sing out every time you touch.
And Oh! You'll love me twice as much!

(the pair of them leaped to, from, and across moving trains in giddylove)

A new dimension of love!
A bold adventure waiting for you!
The true dimension of love!
A soaring flight, a dazzling view!
We're going to take it all the way.
We'll make the dream so totally real!
See greater wonders by the day.
Then tell the stars what glorious rapture we feel!

(They came to rest on reed-thin communications poles, bounding to and
fro in a gentle ballet, trading caresses and brief kisses in the air)

Soon, with the star of spring
we'll know our hearts are changing!
Leave the hurt behindI'll be true and kind
Be the best thing you'll ever find!

(Ranma and Ukyo began to dance through unfinished girders, darting about
like the laws of time and effect had been suspended for just that
moment, as the sun dawned behind them)

We will never have to sigh or cry!
Something told me when I met your eye
You know that I won't be a butterfly.
I can't forget you, though I try!

(a news helicopter nearly drowned out their words. Ranma responded with
a micro-thin chi blast and soon the noise was gone, the pilot trying to
land the now-defunct chopper)
This is destiny, so why pretend?
Close your eyes and love me once again.
I'll always be the only one you'll need!
So go where your deepest longing leads!"

Naa...it'd just postpone the inevitable. I mean once we came out the

little crutches saying, "Oh, the insectity!".

Actually, according to tradition, anime freaks disdain the use of the
standard horizontal emoticons, instead using the more radical vertical
ones, such as: ^_^ ^_- >_< -_- O_o

It's all a futile attempt on the part of online anime fans to
differentiate themselves from the rest of the internet (as if watching
pornographic cartoons with multitudes of violence and bad hair didn't
differentiate them enough).
