EXCLUSIVE: Syfy has picked up flagship drama Warehouse 13 for a fifth
season, which will be its last. Production on the final six-episode
installment of the series, on which Jack Kenny serves as executive
producer/showrunner, will begin in Toronto this summer for a 2014 run.
Warehouse 13 has been an incredible signature series for us, said
Syfy President of Original Content Mark Stern. We are grateful to the
loyal and passionate fan base and know that Jack Kenny, his gifted
creative team, and outstanding ensemble cast will give them an amazing
finale season.

CGI movies.

Does no one around here pay attention?! - As I've been warning for a
while, Siffy Saturday movies are going away too: in the short term,
they're being replaced by "Sinbad" and "Primeval: New World". But I
suspect, in the long run, Siffy will abandon any original scripted
programming on Saturdays...

I'm guessing that they left out the bit about how gratitude doesn't
extend to being willing and/or able to give anyone a major pay raise
with contract time rolling around. Five years is starting to look like
the typical lifespan of the typical Syfy show. HAVEN folks, take note...

My wife says the cast has been tweeting that they'll start shooting in
October. Emily Rose had her baby and is on what amounts to maternity
leave.

If it does, we'll know how stupid their leadership is, since every hit
they've ever had has been an original, scripted program.

Except for wrestling, which my brother assures me, is also scripted,
although it's not a good script by any strectch of the imagination. Unless
you like parodies, I guess.

Really? I just thought they were too stupid to tell the difference between
science fiction, fantasy, horror and really bad fake wrestling.

Dang, then - this may an even longer "knock-off" between seasons than
the record-setting inter-season knock-offs that "Eureka" had... :(

But it looks like it'll be more than a year between seasons - at that
filming schedule, the earliest "Haven" can probably come back is Winter
or Spring of 2014.

Ah.. That would explain the delay in the airing of the show. Kind of
hard to get around her being pregnant if they don't want to include
the baby and pregnancy in the show.

Bonnie Hammer used to run the Science Fiction Channel. Before she got
_PROMOTED_ for how she ran it she was quoted as turning down pitches for
new shows because they were "too science-fictiony".

Back when the Syphilis Channel was still the SciFi Channel, it was
run by a woman named Bonnie Hammer. She publicly avowed that she
hates science fiction, on multiple occasions. This was when (and
why) they started running professiaonl wrestling, Scare Tactics and
simnilar crap. Since those days, Ms. Hammer has been promoted to
running the parent company that owns Syfy, NBC.

Yeah, really.
