Okay, it's not really an oxymoron (Franken, Keillor...uhm...) but why in the
hell do I keep seeing mn.humor cross-posted in this ng? Or are funny
Minnesotans truly considered speculative?

Anyways, just curious (and hoping I'm not violating something when I
remember to trim it).

Aren't Joel and the 'bots from up there?

I think it's like alt.fan.tom-cervo; the subtext is, "Whatever
the putative subject of the post, the main thing you are supposed
to notices is, I AM CLEVER!"

Actually, the subtext is "I'm a crossposting troll

"It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a
democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist
dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the
bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them
they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of
patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every
country."
-Hermann Goering

George W. Harris For actual email address, replace each 'u' with an 'i'.

Any post from Tim Bruening gets that newsgroup added. It's a fair criteria
to add to your killfile. *

Huh, you're right - I never noticed before, largely because I avoid
his brain-damaged posts and the resulting threads consisting of
non-Asperger's sufferers trying to explain the concept of "fiction" to
him.

Any idea why he does that? He appears to be posting from California.

Good summary!

I don't know, I haven't read a post by him in several years. *
