Please limit replies on this thread to things that actually exist in the show
(or associated books/comics), and keep the speculation to a minimum. And
remember not to post any story ideas:

Truth to tell, there is no adequate explanation of either one. You can
only accept them as donées, and the only thing to do with their link
is to accept it as a donée, too.
Am I imagining this, or did Bester say at some point that they didn't
actually understand why telepaths had increased range in hyperspace?
Wasn't there a plot reason for it? It explained how Lyta was able to
activate the Z'Ha'Dum self-destruct before they arrived a the planet
or such.
My feeling was it was mentioned in connection with something that
wouldn't be possible otherwise... borderline Lantern-Hanging.

I'm pretty sure I remember a similar statement, but I thought it was
from Crusade.

Five or so replies all with vague memories of statements in unknown
episodes... (including my own)
This is not what I expect from this NG. In fact any NG dedicated to a
single show/series/franchise.
We should be able to pull up exact quotes at a moments notice and
reference the person making the statement, the episode and the
context.
Have we suck so low?

It was a major plot point in one of the Crusade episode, where
Matheson couldn't spacewalk in hyperspace for that reason (nobody was
allowed out alone, and in his enhanced state, he could accidentally
read someone). At the end of the episode, Gideon left Matheson a
spacesuit and "wasn't looking" when Matheson spacewalked in hyperspace
at the end. I don't remember the episode name, but my memory is pretty
clear on that.
Also, I expect to see this topic title as a spam header in my inbox in
the near future.

Matheson, in "The Well of Forever."

Galen (to Gideon): "I've been penalized before for helping other
people. I've been trying to decide whether or not I should risk it
again."
It was mentioned for the first time, I think, by Bester in "Ship of
Tears." That was why he had to go with them.

I was just giving Wendy the title of the "Crusade" episode she was
remembering.
